BUNNY and her sister HONEY are two beautiful 10 year old golden ladies whose owner died in November.

Their non-malignant lumps and bumps were removed whilst staying with Sandie in Ireland. It was found that Honey bossed Bunny (at front) around a lot so we thought it best to split them, which is working very well.

Bunny is in foster with Helen in Cheshire. Here is Bunny cuddling up with Sam & Jack.. .ahhhhhhhhhhh!

UPDATE ON BUNNY FROM HELEN

Bunny has settled in well. She's been here for one week now and really been good as gold. There have been just two instances when Bunny has growled at my Labrador Jack, once whilst he was coughing (maybe he startled her), the other was when he walked past her bed, both occasions I was able to correct her behaviour.

There have been no accidents in the house I'm delighted to say. Bunny has full run of the house, but, because of her leg injury, she can't come upstairs during the day so, when it is bed time Michael carries her up to bed with us. She just hangs there limply in his arms totally trusting him.

She loves the food I'm feeding her, is drinking OK, and will happily lie close to one of my other dogs when she settles down. That was of course, until she had to wear the head collar, now when she lies next to them they get up and walk off - she's very clumsy with it, banging into everything and everyone!

She didn't understand any commands when she arrived and still has no recall to her name. She now understands the commands NO, SIT, and STAY (most of the time). I can't walk her yet because of her injured leg, but she is fine with my friend's dog, and is great with children. There is no aggression whilst feeding whatsoever and she now waits her turn for me to put her food bowl down. At first she raced to be the first but she has had to learn that she is fed last.

All in all, she's a great dog, very affectionate and a very quick learner.

Poor Jack was taken to Rainbow Bridge, which left everyone devastated, but, happily, Bunny now has a new friend...............Conan, a golden retriever aged 13yrs.

Helen says, "Bunny is my little princess!"

"I took Bunny in to be spayed yesterday morning [as the handsome and randy Conan has not be neutered] and they found that Bunny, like her sister Honey, had a bad infection of her womb. The operation was complicated and she lost a lot of blood. Whilst she was under, they also removed a wart on her lower eyelid and a large vascular wart from her inner thigh. She was in a lot of pain last night, so I slept downstairs with her, and together we watched the thunder and lightening and hard downpour of rain at 4am this morning."

"She's a little better today, up and about following me everywhere, I wish she'd stay in her bed to rest though. She's now eating fine and drinking OK. This little girl is a true survivor."

"I do believe that Conan saved her life because, if we had not got him on the Sunday, I wouldn't have had Bunny spayed on the Monday. I know my angel Jack has played a part in this!"

SAD NEWS

After only a short but very happy time with Helen, Conan sadly passed over to Rainbow Bridge on 2 October 2008.

Although Helen is kept very busy these days with her Pet Care Services business, www.helenspetcare.co.uk she has managed to find time to send these lovely photos. Isn't Bunny gorgeous?
