HUGO

HUGO was fostered by Sandra in London for several months before he learned to trust people again. With Sandras special brand of TLC, he settled down and became ready to be rehomed. Then the perfect home had to be found for him.

He now lives very happily in Berkshire where he is absolutely adored by his new family.

And this was him happy on his holidays at Christmas time

HUGO was rescued, just in time, from the pound in Ireland and then fostered by Sandra in London for several months before he settled down and became ready to be rehomed. Hugo is very loving and loves lots of cuddles back, he is cheeky, a joker and wants to play with his tennis balls all the time. He is a dream and an absolute poppet.

Then the perfect home was found for him with Vicky and Jim in Berkshire where he is loved to bits and where he has found his paradise. He is as good as gold, can be left to walk off the lead. He loves his walks in the woods and on the beach, and is quite partial to a bit of swimming. He never tires of playing with his tennis balls and is a very happy dog. Hugo is also a quick learner and is probably being held back a bit by his new owners being 'dog training novices'. However he still prefers squirrelling over treats.

    UPDATE ON HUGO

Hugo is fine. We were up in the Lake District again in June and he notched up another 8-9 peaks while we were there. I still haven't got round to sorting out any photos but when I do I'll send a few through. We've been away quite a few times in the last few months with him and I'm sure he enjoys all the new places especially if there is somewhere to swim (sea, river, lakes...... he doesn't mind). We have more trips planned to Dartmoor and Norfolk soon.

We use a dog walker now a few times a week just so Hugo gets a good walk in the middle of the day and also to socialise with other dogs. It seems to be working out very well and the dog walker loves taking him out with her.

Jim, Vicky and of course 'hound face' as he's also affectionately known.....

FURTHER UPDATE ON HUGO (JUNE 2008)

Jim & Vicky say "Everything is very well with him as you can see. The last few months have seen us in Norfolk, Dartmoor, Wales and the Lake District (twice !) always heading out on new walks. Hugo has notched up another batch of peaks in the Lake District and always visits the local water spots - rivers, lakes, sea...anything goes especially if there's a tennis ball to chase. We also had a fair amount of snow earlier this year which was good fun in Windsor park.

Anyhow, hope you enjoy seeing him doing so well...... "

Sandra says "How lovely are these pictures, he has really fallen on his feet!!! I can't stop looking at them. This is such a happy ending for Hugo after having 6 months in foster before we found the right family for him. He is smiling in every picture. Can I suggest we could do a "happy dog of the week" feature on the front page and he could be the first one. "

UPDATE JAN 09

Vicky said.  “How good is this!   Hugo, such a happy boy and such a good ending with Joseph now in the family!

Hugo is very well and as happy and bouncy as ever. He had a busy Christmas, we had 10 of us at my parents for 4 days then 11 (and 2 other dogs) at Jim's parents following that.  He loves having lots of people around, I'm sure he is bored now there is just Joseph and I around during the day!

He is wonderful with Joseph, he will love it when Joseph is able to play ball with him.”

UPDATE AUGUST 2010

Jim says. "Here are a few photos of Joseph & Hugo and of Hugo up yet another peak in the Lake District only a few months back and in full flight, you've guessed it...... chasing a ball.

We're all doing well - Joseph and Hugo get on really well - I think they'll become very close as Joseph gets older."
