HECTOR

HENRY and HECTOR are approximately 1 year old, male, golden retriever crosses. They are fantastic dogs. Apparantly they were sent into the pound by a farmer because they were in his field, playing with the sheep. The pound expected the owner to come forward but he never did, despite the fact that they are exceptionally well trained. They have spent time in kennels since their release from the pound. We had hoped to find a home that would take both of them because they seemed very close. Also, when parted, they were totally delighted to see each other again but, they are also double trouble and can get into mischief together so we decided it might be best, after all, to separate them. This seems to be working very well for both of them.

UPDATE on HECTOR

Hector is really chilled out and has not missed Henry one bit. He loves his walk and his recall is brill (mind if you have a ball in your hand he really is going nowhere till you throw it and he brings it straight back).

He loves all other dogs but tends just to say "hi cant stop mums got my ball see ya"

He has the run of the hall, kitchen and dining room when im not here and he has not touched anything and I havent moved anything so he has had ample opportunity to be naughty. He has been left for 4 hours now and no problems.

He can happily live alone or with another dog. As long as he gets his walks and ball play he is happy.

He loves to be groomed and has no objections to baths. Joshuas skin is so so, we keep well on top with cream but dont think its ever going to be fully clear. We are trying new creams and tablets now so we will see what difference they make.

This boy has stolen my heart but, in reality, he needs his forever home as im sure, if they play ball and love him, he will give 110% and more back to them.

I, personally, would keep him away from henry now as, if back together, it would just be too confusing for them and maybe mischief would start again lol.

Fingers crossed for our beloved Hector that his true forever home will come along soon but, meanwhile, he is much loved here.

THE MOST BRILLIANT NEWS

The inevitable has happened and Hector has found his true forever home with his fosterer, Ange, and Josh.

Being much less hairy then Henry, it seems that the allergic effect on Josh is manageable and the love shared by this little boy and his dog is far more important to them all.

To say we are all delighted by the outcome would be an understatement.

Hector now has a new little friend to play with; Mable is in foster with Angela for Bull Terrier rescue.

BAD NEWS AND GOOD NEWS

Sadly, little Josh's allergy got out of control and, with a heavy heart, Ange decided that poor Hector would have to be rehomed again.

The good news is that a wonderful couple were looking for a dog just like Hector so the latest information is that he is settling in very happily with Colin and Gilly in Shropshire, where he has loads space to run around with his beloved “ballies” and where he will be loved to bits.
