LADY ISABELLE

ISABELLE (Belle) is a 10 yr old labrador. Due to the ill health of her owner, she has been in kennels for a year so, unfortunately, she is both overweight and arthritic. However, the good news is that, after just a couple of days of normal home life, she is already showing more interest and is moving much more freely.

Belle absolutely adores people and likes nothing better than a tummy tickle. She really is a very lovely old girl.

UPDATE on BELLE

There is good news and bad news on Belle. The good news is she is really coming out of herself and is moving much better, even breaking into a little trot. She has also made some lovely new doggie friends.

The bad news is that we found a mammary tumour. This has now been removed successfully but an Xray has shown that she already has secondaries in her lungs so conventional treatment can no longer help her.

Wendy Waygood has sent her some ZARAS HERBAL TEA grammasintl to help build up her immune system and, like all our dogs, she is on a combination of flower essences to help her emotionally to cope with the loss of her beloved owner, who became too ill to care for her any longer. We will also be looking further into homeopathy and into any other natural products which will maintain a good quality of life for her as long as possible and any further information on this will be most gratefully received.

Belle has a beautiful soft bed to lie on (kindly donated by kudospetproducts ) and we also now have a ramp donated by petlifeonline which is brilliant for helping Belle to get in and out of the van and negotiate our steps. Both items were originally generously donated as raffle prizes for our Reunion 2007 but we felt that Belle would benefit greatly from utilising them for her instead.

Belle appears to be very happy and loves it when I call her my Lady Isabelle. At the very least, she will now pass over surrounded by love again, having trotted in green fields, and not being confined to a kennel.

She is really learning to smile again, is very determined and knows the way to get exactly what she wants.

BRILLIANT NEWS FOR BELLE

There is brilliant news for Belle. She now has the most wonderful forever home in Wiltshire. She is now living in a bungalow with a flat garden that backs on to a nature reserve and with someone who is at home all day for her. She also has the companionship of Jenny (who is 16yrs) and Zack (who is a 12yr old JRT) and a young one-eyed cat.

Debbie, her forever mum says. Belle is continuing to settle in very well and seemed quite active and interested in everything yesterday. She does tire easily but has her bed in the hall so can just come in from outside and collapse onto it if she wants. She spends the evenings with us and the other dogs, and sometimes the cat, watching TV and having plenty of cuddles.

She is well loved already and will hopefully have the best months of her life with us.

FURTHER UPDATE ON BELLE

Belle went for a couple of short walks yesterday. She went at her own speed (the other dogs dashed off) but really seemed to enjoy herself. She sniffs the grass and the air and wags her tail a lot. We are hoping that she will be well enough to go to the river soon as I am sure she would love the water. I willl wait until the weather improves but it would be nice for her to have a paddle.

Everybody that visits us absolutely adores her as we both do. She is gorgeous.

BELLE IS AT PEACE

Sadly, Belle's happiness was short-lived and she is now resting in peace at Rainbow Bridge.
