![]() SUMMER
Sally is probably a purebred about 10 or 11mths old. She was neutered in Ireland and is now in foster in Kent with Jaspreet. FIRST UPDATE ON SALLY Jaspreet says. "Sally loves people. Everyone who has seen her wants to take her home as she is so cute and loving. She is not fully potty trained yet but she will be there soon with consistent training. Sally seems fine with cats and even mice has shown no aggression towards anything or anyone. She gets along well with children, loves visitors and is absolutely fine with all ages and genders. She shows extra love towards my son and treats him like a younger brother.
Sally loves food and eats most things, even cucumber and tomatoes. She is going through a bit of a chewing period at the moment.
Walking Sally on her lead is work in progress but she is quite young and a manageable size so she will learn very quickly in good hands. She is happy to stay in her crate for hours and does not make a mess in there. FURTHER UPDATE ON SALLY
She travels well in the car and soon settles. She loves to go for a walk and knows the ‘W’ word already. She does pull on her lead but I’m sure that will stop soon. She is still very young and has so much to explore!!
Sally is housetrained. At the moment she sleeps in a dog crate overnight. I settle her about 10.30pm and I don’t hear a peep from her until 7.30am. Over the next couple of nights I am going to gradually leave the crate door open so that she can sleep in the pen, a little bit at a time. There isn’t too much chewing now, this has converted into digging in the garden.
Sally is a super dog and it will be sad to see her go. She will make the perfect pet for a lively family who ideally have previous experiences of puppies. THIRD UPDATE ON SALLY
Sally is now completely out of the crate overnight and sleeps on most of Diesel’s bed - Diesel has a corner of it if he’s lucky! FIRST REPORT FROM HER FOREVER HOME Karen says, “Summer is wonderful and has settled in really well, we feel like she has been here for ages rather than just two days. She was great on the long car journey here. Breagha, our other goldie has got even more of a smile on her face since getting her new sister, she is enjoying the company again. Three of the four cats are already getting their faces washed by Summer.
Summer has been in the fields off the lead running after Breagha and today we went to the forest with them and she was in the water.
All in all Summer is a lovely girl who is now a part of our family. She was very lucky to be taken in by the Irish Retriever Rescue and we were so lucky to get her. Thanks also for all the help given by Joann and Lorraine.” UPDATE JAN 09 Summer is still chewing but it is calming down. Worktop surfing is a lot better and jumping up is once in a blue moon, which is really good. I have done six weeks of dog training and she was fab. She understands sit, down, stand and her recall and stay is coming on a treat. She loves running and running. UPDATE MARCH 09
Breagha and her just love each other, the wee problems we had have settled down (fingers crossed). She is great with all the pussy cats. We have a few fun shows coming up so we all will be going.
Will keep in touch and thank you IRR for letting us have her and for all the wonderful work you all do.”
