FLORA'S HISTORY

Flora was transferred to IRR from another rescue in Ireland

REPORT FROM FLORA’S 1ST FOSTERER: UK, SOMERSET

Flora is a golden retriever around 7 years old who has recently been in foster care near Derby. Her first fosterer, Lyn, said of her: she is a lovely natured girl and has made lots of progess in the last few months and now knows her name. She enjoys travelling in the car and is house trained. Initially she barks at other dogs for a short time until she gets to know them and then wants to play. Flora would need someone to continue her training regime.
Being a very affectionate dog as I am writing this update Flora is constantly nudging me for attention.

FOSTERER'S 1ST REPORT: UK, DERBY

When Flora first arrived she seemed very nervous. She met my dogs and they all got on well together.

She is a lovely girl who enjoys playing with my dogs and playing fetch. She seems unconcerned about the horses in the field next door. She is house trained, and gets on well with my partner's children.

FOSTERER'S 2ND REPORT – UK: APRIL 2012

Flora loves playing; she really does give my youngest dog Paddy a good run for his money!! There have been no issues while out walking her, although she does pull a little on the lead. So far we have not met up with other dogs out on the lead to see what she is like but we will keep trying.

FOSTERER’S 3RD REPORT – UK: MAY 2012

I have been doing lots of walks with Flora and am happy to say that she is fine when meeting other dogs. I have been making her sit and let other dogs come to meet and greet her, which she seems to be responding well to, and has even made some friends. Also, while walking, keeping the lead short has worked well and she does not pull as much.

Flora enjoys having some treats when asked to sit, stay etc. She also loves having a good chew on those hard nylon bones and rings and enjoys running after a tennis ball.

MAY 2012: FLORA HAS GONE TO HER FOREVER HOME

UPDATE FROM FLORA’S FOREVER HOME: JUNE 2012

Just an update to let you know Flora is settling in nicely. We love her to bits . She has brought such joy to our lives.
She loves her long walks. We have yet to introduce her to other dogs apart from our Chudley and Tia and she gets on with them fine .
She had a little trepidation in climbing the stairs at first but is now a champion at negotiating them, and loves to run up and down them.

2nd UPDATE FROM FLORA’S FOREVER HOME: AUGUST 2012

We lost our beloved Shannon to cancer and our precious Tia last week to
renal failure they have both gone to Rainbow Bridge.

Both our girls passed away within 6 weeks of each other. Shannon was 9yrs
old and Tia, our old girl, was 14. Both were goldies.

We are heartbroken.

Our Flora came to keep our Chudley happy in her forever home and as you can see
in the picture she is now his new girl. She is a lovely girl and we all love her
so much.

Chudley is still mourning his two lost companions and Flora is helping him
get over the loss.
