Irish Retiriever Rescue UK

FUNDRAISING

Whenever we undertake a rescue, dogs are fostered for a minimum of two weeks and any medical or behavioural issues that may arise are addressed. These may include include speying or neutering and, in the case of dogs rescued from Ireland, we also have to arrange ferry transport to England.

Some of the dogs that come into our care have health issues which mean they cannot be adopted so IRR looks after them for life as forever fosters.

As you may imagine, these requirements are not always covered by the suggested Adoption Fees which means we have an ongoing need to raise cash to meet the difference.

To this end we have listed below some Fundraising ideas which are all easy to do and can help to make an important contribution to our funds.

For instance, did you know you can raise money by simply buying goods online, selling items on Ebay or by sponsoring one of our dogs. There are so many ways to join in, so please have a look below, you might have some fun and meet a few new people on the way.

EBAY SHOP

One of our members has an Ebay Shop and is willing to sell things you no longer need or would like to donate to help raise funds. Recommended items are small, easy to post things like stamps, postcards, coins, etc. Please click here to check that what you have for sale is appropriate.

SPONSOR A DOG

For a donation of £10 a year, you can sponsor an IRR Sponsor Dog, and in return you will receive a Certificate of Sponsorship with a photo of your chosen dog as well as regular updates about their progress. Your sponsor dog will also remember your birthday and greet you at Christmas and your name will be listed on your Sponsor Dog’s Page. Why not sponsor a dog as a gift for a friend.

The gifts at our Online Gift Shop are available featuring your chosen dog. All the Sponsor Dogs star in our annual “Calendar Dogs” wall and pocket calendars. Click here to meet the Sponsor Dogs.

HOME OR OFFICE

There are lots of simple things you can do at home or in your office. Why not run a Coffee Morning or a Cheese & Wine Party and invite your friends. Or fill a jar with sweets, invite people to guess how many sweets there are and the winner takes the jar. You could take a Teddy to work, write out 50 names on a piece of paper and ask colleagues to guess the name - all for a small fee of course! Make some cakes, fudge or jam to sell.
