SANDIE CO-ORDINATOR IN IRELAND AND OUR FOUNDER

Sandie is a saint to the dogs who she tirelessly works to rescue but she can be a demon when dealing with some of the cruel abusers of these lovely dogs.

Sandie lives, breathes and sleeps with her doggy cap on. Her phone never stops ringing and she has been known to drive to the other side of Ireland at the drop of a hat to pick up a dog in trouble. She witnesses life at the sharp end, having been involved in raids by the ISPCA on puppy farms where conditions are abhorrent. She regularly has to go into the pounds, to collect dogs who are signed out to her, where she has to see the rows of innocent faces of dogs who will not be as lucky. It is heartbreaking to have to leave all those dogs behind knowing the inevitable fate that they face but nobody can save them all:((

Many times, Sandie has nursed sick dogs back to health and she has also had to say goodbye to dogs who are too ill to be helped but, at least, they have felt the warmth of her loving arms as they passed over, rather than dying, afraid and alone, in the pound into which they have been abandoned.

Many of the dogs are fostered with Sandie first before they make the long journey to safety across the Irish Sea. Her own dogs welcome them into their home and help with the important process of rehabilitation. As can be seen, they also love it when human friends come to visit. Isabelle, the dachshund, herself a rescue with a very sad history, likes to make sure she gets centre stage attention, bless her.

Anouska is 10, has a hip score of 83 and has never ever seen a vet in her life.

Barkley is about 6, I rescued him 5 years ago. He loves to carry things in his mouth, preferably in pairs or even 2 pairs.

Jordan and Tina (as you look at them) are daughter and Mum (again as you look at them). Not that you'd ever tell.

Isabelle loves to cuddle one of her sistsers or brother (if I'm not around) whilst sleeping.
