SHANNON BISSETT She was the mascot of Irish Retriever and our inspiration. From an intimidated, terrified, quivering wreck she changed into an outgoing, affectionate, cheeky little minx but, despite everything possible being done, she was too physically damaged to make old bones. Rest peacefully, Shannon, your legacy has been and is amazing.
ANOUSKA and TINA BISSETT After helping you with the endless Golden visitors over the years, you made the kindest decision and let us peacefully drift away together.
ISABELLE BISSETT My little Dachshund lady was one of a kind. Isabelle brightened my life immensely and was a loyal and faithful friend and companion. She will be greatly missed, not only by me but by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her and succumbing to her many charms. Fly with the angels sweet Isabelle.
BARKLEY BISSETT one of a kind and always the clown with the loudest bark in the whole of Ireland. When Monty came I taught him well and we were partners in crime. I feel so sad to leave you, Mum, but look out angels, here I come
DARCY CANNON My old man, my clown, my friend, my constant companion, my muse….. my life. He stole my soul. He was treated like the royalty he was, complete with 2 birthdays a year!! He was the pride of Ireland and never forgot his roots. He adored Irish music and I know he has found the Fields of Athenry now. We all miss you big lad. Gone from sight…. never from my heart. xxxxxxxxxxxx
SAM CANNON Lorraine’s 15 yr old Golden Retriever. When, at 11 yrs old, Sammy’s owners emigrated, this endearing and incredibly stubborn geriatric reprobate puppy became a very special and unique, much-loved member of the ‘Cannon Clan’. In his Autumn years, he quickly established himself as Monster Martha’s beloved, adored and inseparable companion.
MARTHA CANNON Always known as the Monster due to her strength of personality, part of Lorraine died along with her precious girl of over 18yrs. “Martha, you have left my life but you will never leave my heart xxxxx”
PUDSEY REGULA Forever in our broken hearts, you meant so much to us. Still just a baby when you went to the Bridge, you are the brightest star in the sky. Good night sweet Puds, until we meet again, be happy and keep wagging that Labrador tail. xx
BABY ROSE One of Kayleigh’s babies, she never had the chance to blossom and grow. She was a special little flower who God and the angels wanted back. Rest in Peace, little Rose. You were well loved in the short time you were here with us.
BABY DUKE Taken at just 16 weeks old. We try not to weep though our baby boy died but God needed an angel to lay at his side. Run free sweet little man. We loved you so much.

MURPHY BROWN
HOVIS BROWN a lovely Dalmatian, he became a very licky dog in his old age and could often make his leg sore. Murphy used to give him a very deliberate poke on his back, between his shoulders and would hold his paw there until Hovis stopped licking. A very special boy, very much missed.
LOUIS and LIZZIE PHILLIPS a lovable rogue who stole Joan’s heart and a brave lady who loved life despite her years of suffering. Now living it up at Rainbow Bridge.
BEN and SOPHIE PHILLIPS Another naughty almost white Labrador, long gone but never forgotten and the sweetest little lady with the biggest heart who adored her mum but always ruled Louis with a rod of iron. She is greatly missed xx
In loving memory of BRUCE, RILL, KIRI, BEL and TAZZ BAMBER I have loved them all so much. They were the children I never had. Bruce, the gentle giant, Rill the wonder dog and my first Agility dog, sweet-natured Kiri, who won out of Starters for me. Gentle Bel with the lovely eyes and little silver pawed Tazzie who came 5th in the National Finals of the Tuganuff Agility Competition.
SAM MORGAN Beloved Sam, who strayed into school and was adopted by Jean. I cling to the hope that they will all be waiting for me at the Rainbow Bridge and that would be Heaven indeed.
ELIAS GUY a special Labrador. My beloved Elias was an amazing dog, full of character and with a heart full of love. I have many lovely memories of him.
LEVI HERRING, a Lab Cross. Heartbroken Nicky found it hard to even say the dreadful words “Our darling Levi sadly passed to the Bridge this evening. Run free my darling boy you were so loved and will be greatly missed by us all”. xxx
NUGGET HYDE was a wonderful natured, older fellow who was a favourite Sponsor Dog. He was also a Forever Foster with Amy who says “I cannot begin to describe the joy he brought to our lives. He was always such a happy boy. Even at the end, his tail was wagging. He would make silly noises and look at you with pure love in his eyes. I will even miss his snoring.
HEIDI DESMOND She was a gentle, loving black Labrador girl. Heidi is much missed by Janet and her sons who showered her with love and gave her the freedom to enjoy a garden. This beautiful lady left behind her the legacy of her gorgeous black Labrador puppy, Uimi.
NIKKI WICKENS a beautiful Labrador and their faithful and loyal friend, she passed away in Nikki’s arms being told how much she was loved and how sorry they were that she had to go. Nikki, you are the brightest star in the sky.

HONEY COOK For 4yrs, despite the early dire prognosis for her, she managed to lead a very happy, healthy and active life with all her greyhound brothers and sisters but when the cancer eventually returned, Honey Bee had to be given release to go to Rainbow Bridge.
CONNIE DAGGER a lovely, gentle, sweet-natured girl who was loved by all who met her. Always in control but never in an unkind way. Forever Val’s special girl xx
ELLIE DAGGER a real lady, so well behaved and gentle. A fantastic ambassador for her breed (GSD). You fought so hard but it was your time. We all miss you so much xx
CLANCY MALLINSON, a much loved Golden girl. She was a great friend to Harry and helped him settle in after his traumatic past. A true angel, she is very much missed.
STELLA McAVOY The sweetest, gentlest little girl. We will never forget you. Run free little Stella. We love you lots. xxx
ELLIE MAY McAvoy She was totally devoted to her Mum and, when visitors came, she was rarely seen without an old piece of vet bed or other “present” for them.
MILLIE McAVOY Daddy’s girl, she was the smallest but she was always the leader of the pack. A huge heart in a tiny package.
CASSIE McAVOY Remembering her lovely, smiley face and gentle nature. Farewell for now sweet angel. Until we all meet again.

HENRY McAVOY He was a Doberman x Bouvier de Flandres but looked like a ginger Irish Wolfhound and he was a complete wimp!, Amazingly for a big lad, he lived to 15yrs, a big tough boy, he was as soft as butter. Always in our hearts. Sending hugs.
HONEY SAWYER Stella’s daughter, sleep well little princess. Back together with our wonderful JAFFA. We will always miss you both. xx
HEIDI HENSHAW She was greatly admired by everyone we met and was a really good ambassador for IRR. Not “goodbye” but “till we meet again”. Fly high with the angels beautiful lady.
MICHA HENSHAW an amazing girl, full of spirit and determination who left a very big hole in our hearts. We miss your gentle ” woof”. Run free, full of fun and mischief, with Heidi and Pepper over Rainbow Bridge.
PEPPER HENSHAW my first rescue Goldie, thrown out of a car on the motorway, escaped twice from police custody and once from the RSPA, returned after 24 hours by first rehomers BUT never put a paw wrong for the next 15 years. A gentle, loving and very loyal soul mate who got me hooked on Goldies! xx
TIPPY HENSHAW our family beagle during my childhood, full of mischief (usually to be found sitting patiently outside the butchers next door but one) and fun. Run free. xx
BRACKEN NEWMAN Eileen’s very special angel on Earth and now in Heaven. She was loved and admired by everyone. Now reunited with Sasha, her Dad, Ray and her wonderful Mum, Eileen as well as her best friend and neighbour Abbey. xxxxx
SASHA NEWMAN a sweet, loving, gentle choc drop. She took care of her Dad and waited patiently for her best friend, Bracken.
DAISY TOLHURST She had a fantastic relationship with Shadow and gradually came out of her shell. Daisy knew how much she was loved. Her sister, Mai, was waiting to greet and reassure her at Rainbow Bridge where Ellie May eventually joined them. Fly with the angels, lovely ladies.
BERTIE TOLHURST He looked like a Golden Retriever but with shorter legs and a crooked lip so he was always half-smiling. He loved our family and being with Shadow and Daisy. We held and cuddled him as he breathed his last. Bertie, always a true gent, never to be forgotten.
MAI PALMER She was the loveliest, most gentle girl with a big, brave heart and I shall miss her very much. She was a real fighter surviving 21 months after diagnosis and exceeding all expectations. Farewell, precious girl and fly high with all the other beautiful IRR angels.
CASSIE MARSHALL She became a loving and faithful companion but I was always her comfort blanket when problems arose that reminded her of terrible past traumas that she had endured. I am so glad she was given that second chance and that I was the one fortunate enough to adopt her. Happily reunited with her old Greyhound friend, Mick.
FLYNN MARSHALL You were cruelly taken way too soon and just when life was becoming a joy for you thanks to the dedication of your loving mum, Ann. Now, forever together at Rainbow Bridge with your uncles Ricky, Eddie and Josh. xxx
HARVEY WHITE, he landed Jane in loads of scrapes but was adored by everyone that met him and he did get her through some bad times. He was also ace at being a foster brother to the many foster dogs they helped along the way. Losing him has left Jane absolutely devastated.
BONNIE MOORE, winner of the Pudsey Memorial Award, she was a miracle girl and a tribute to the care and devotion she received for the six years that she remained in forever foster. She left a big hole in their lives and both Simon and his son, Tom, still miss her very much.
BRUNO MOORE a stray, he will still be having a wonderful time chasing squirrels and rabbits and bounding through the grassy fields of Rainbow Bridge without a care in the world. You were a very special dog and I feel lucky to have been your friend.
CANDIE MOORE the dear little Shih Tzu who helped Freddie to settle. They formed a daisy chain as he enjoyed carrying her lead in his mouth and walking her whilst Simon walked him.
WESLEY MARTIN He was a beautiful sweet and gentle 15 yr old Collie x Lurcher who was Marley’s friend and mentor. When Wes crossed Rainbow Bridge, it was like a massive presence had disappeared from the house. Everyone was very upset at Wesley’s passing especially Marley and the whole family really missed him Rest in peace, special boy.
BOBBY KENDREW A “failed” foster dog, he was loving, intelligent, funny. He became a huge part of our family and found his forever home with us from day one. Everyone was very sad as Bobby was sorely missed especially by Molly. We said goodbye to him by scattering his ashes in his favourite spot in the nearby river.
MOLLY KENDREW She was the friendliest and most gentle of dogs you could ever hope to have. Molly gave us her love for eleven wonderful years and received all the extra cuddles she needed when Bobby passed away. Everyone was devastated when 8 short months later she joined him at Rainbow Bridge. Go be with him, lovely lady. They are both greatly missed but we are trying hard to remember all the wonderful times and the joy they brought to us.
BEN HARRIS He was my everything, bringing a purpose to my life and me to his. His passing left me absolutely devastated. A few special feathers sit on top of Ben’s urn.
RICKY GRANGER Escapologist Extraordinaire whose most infamous headline in the village magazine was ”exhausted one-armed man catches three-legged Irish rover!” Julie’s very special boy. Truly unique, we will all love you forever, Ricky Boy. xxxx

CHESTER DALMEIJER Such a kind and gentle soul and such a joker. He made everyone laugh and made me so happy. He had the cutest kissing curl on the top of his head and loved the lady dogs even in his last week on this earth. He followed me around everywhere and was such a loveable and funny dog. He left a big empty hole behind.
HARVEY DALMEIJER my master teacher, who showed me the way, through his battle for life. He had a zest and love of life from a puppy to 8 years of age and fought all the way. On his last day, he played football with me on Clapham Common with such joy and happy barking. You would not believe he was very sick as well as blind and deaf. He could hear my thoughts and read my mind. He was my beloved Harvey.
BUDDY DALMEIJER my gentle, calm, wise soul, I will miss so much. He took everything in his stride and loved life and all those he met, loved him. He is free now and can run and see again which is the only thing that matters. All three of my boys will be missed forever.
SADIE KEENE She had such a loving family and a fantastic home. A girl could not ask for more than that. She had the best life! Sadie was her own unique person, even making the news! Although all our hearts were aching, Shirley and Graham’s last act for her was the most difficult and yet the most loving.
TEDDY KEENE Our world revolved around Teddy’s needs and he repaid us with his love. He had a real sense of humour and the most beautiful, big brown eyes which were so expressive and would follow you without him moving his head. Sleep peacefully, darling Dogger. There will never be another one like you.
BONNIE and BECKY BROWN They were such sweet gentle girls and had such a loving home. They really had the best. We believe Becky knew it was Bonnie’s time and that she made her decision for them never to be parted and to stay with each other forever. They have a lovely spot together, as they wanted to be, in our garden, in the place where they were always so very happy.
LISA CONNOLLY She was the saviour of Alice’s pups and, deservedly, had a wonderful life with Carol and her family. Lisa went peacefully, surrounded by love xx
CARRIE CARBIN After being so happy and starting to become a “normal” dog, at last, Carrie suddenly became unwell and the awful decision had to be made to give her peace. Thanks to Carol, she found happiness and knew love for the first time in her life. She passed away gently cradled in loving arms. Fly with the angels, Carrie.
ALLIE SMITH my beloved Miss Allie and her sister, Angel, rescued me in January 2008 and helped me find a path through a very difficult time. Allie was a most wonderful, gentle ambassador for IRR, wearing her bandana and IRR coat with pride on home checks and fund-raisers. She won the Best in Show prize at the 2008 IRR Reunion. Together, they were IRR sponsor dogs from the beginning. Run free beautiful lady.
ANGEL SMITH my beautiful guardian Angel went to heaven in her favourite spot in front of the Christmas tree. Run free sweetheart, you brought us all much joy and we loved you well.
SAM SMITH the legendary Riviera Sammy has gone to Rainbow Bridge. Run free my brave, beautiful boy – you were one in a million. All three are very much missed xxx
TOBY LEGGETT He was Anita and Bill’s gorgeous, so badly abused little boy who they cared for and loved for over 11 years and changed him from a nervous wreck into the most loving dog you could ever imagine. They are still heartbroken but will always remember the lovely life that they had with Toby and the wonderful memories they both hold of him. They know, in time, the pain will get easier but they are greatly comforted knowing he is now with his lovely wife Chelsea who has been waiting patiently for him for 2 years. He adored her and will probably still be licking her ears and saving some of his milk just for her.
CHELSEA LEGGETT Brave Chelsea became the old Lady who ruled the roost but she had a massive loving heart and anyone that knew her loved her. She was the kindest, most loving girl you could ever wish to meet despite having to fight through many severe illnesses and major operations. Toby, who was totally devoted to her, was her nursemaid making sure she always bounced back and that she was soon running around with him again. The family were all devastated at the loss of their dear little Princess but can, now, look back with happiness and remember the wonderful life, pleasure and unfailing love she gave them.
BELLA TUCK a black Flat Coat, she was known for her waggy tail. Often a star at the many IRR Reunions, she won loads of prizes and was awarded The Happiest Worker in obedience. She loved caravan holidays with swimming and days on the beach. As pack leader, Bella has left a big void behind her especially with the greetings when people arrived home. She led the way and life was, suddenly, very quiet without her. Rest in peace, dear Bella.
MADDIE, ARNIE and SUZIE TUCK, a loving Mum and her son and daughter. All wonderful dogs playing together at Rainbow bridge. They will never be forgotten.
SHEPPEY POPE She was a wonderful girl who loved attention and cuddles. She is missed enormously and will never be forgotten but will always be remembered as a very special Goldie. We are so blessed to have had her in our lives and thank IRR for entrusting her to us.
BUDDY DOWNIE Such a beautiful, happy boy, always smiling. We miss you so much. We will love you always. xxxx
SAM DOWNIE He was my shining star who lit up my life after we lost Buddy. We loved everything about him. Sam was so special to me. He was my best friend. He, and Buddy before him, changed me into a boy dog owner and lover.
LIBBY DOWNIE our lovely brave Labrador who wore her knitted leg warmers with pride. Sam became her best friend and took care of her from day one. Losing the two of them so close together has made things worse. We all miss them both so much

LOLLY HAMILL our Lady Lola Jane. Her uncaring owner’s loss was our gain. Everyone loved our beautiful girl but especially us. She totally enriched our lives and we missed her terribly. Another beautiful golden angel is flying high.
CASSIE HAMILL our first Goldie who made us fall in love with the breed. We never thought we would find another dog to rival her she must have sent us Lolly who certainly did that in abundance. thank you, Cassie. You were a wonderful girl.
REILLY MORGAN He started as a bit of a lager lout, a challenge but we have no regrets. He learnt to trust us enough to be himself and he became a great, soft teddy bear and a perfect gentleman. Our beautiful boy and dear friend, you will always be in our hearts and thoughts.
ELLIE MORGAN Our black Labrador who died a few months before we adopted Reilly. She was a funny, loving and very loyal friend who we loved to bits. We still miss her till this day.
TESS ROBERTS a pretty Border Collie Cross who came from Birmingham Dogs Home terrified of everyone, especially men, she became the cleverest and most loyal dog Liz ever owned. Tornado Tess loved to run and passers by often gave her a round of applause for rounding up Liz’s Retrievers like sheep when she called them. She also loved a cup of tea and a nice armchair. Liz is sure she’s running and laughing and drinking gallons of tea now.
GEORGE ROBERTS He told me he’d had enough. Thank you my gorgeous puddle head George for the love and entertainment over the past few years. It doesn’t get any easier. Much missed by Teddy.
JAKE WARWICK an adorable little Collie Cross, he was, very bravely and unselfishly, given the peace he desired. Apart from his heartbroken forever family, he left behind him an army of people who adored him too and cherish their memories of this very, very special little dog.
JAFFA ROBERTS He was a true angel on Earth but with his work done and a human life saved, the angels called him back. Fly high, fly free, Golden boy.
LUCY SMITH Towards the end, she developed quite a few problems but Lucy was 15yrs and a real testament to the love and devotion of her amazing adopters, Carol and Colin, who went the extra mile to gave this very special girl such a long, happy and totally wonderful life.
LADY SMITH She was Carol and Colin’s little gremlin and everyone loved you so very much. You always greeted any new rescue dog with a waggy tail. Sleep well little lady. Now with all your brothers and sisters at Rainbow Bridge:
QUEENIE, HONEY, BONNIE, TIA, DUKIE, ZUKI, APPOLLO, LUCY and OLLIE. Sadly lost but never forgotten.
MURPHY GEE We loved him so much as he was such a character never without his toys especially his chucker and ball. Christmas is hard as he loved diving into the presents and tearing them apart. He and Fergus were inseparable
FERGUS GEE He was so good with everybody, loved going on the beach and he used to watch the t.v. barking if a dog or any animal was on the screen. Our only consolation is that he has Murphy with him and they are running together.
FLISS PENNY the gorgeous Lady Fliss had a wonderful life with Lord Jazper and the Penny family. She was very much loved and, hopefully, that made up for the less than ideal start to her life that she had to endure. Another beautiful doggy angel is flying high.
LADY ISABELLE, CHEEKY, JENNY and ZACK MALLETT Issy was one classy lady. It was good to know she was no longer suffering any pain and was probably being her usual stubborn self at Rainbow Bridge. She had a wonderful presence and I feel so privileged to have cared for her albeit for such a short time. She taught us a lot – how to cope when you are not feeling too bright, how to get what you really want and how to slow down a bit and just take some time to look around you. We lost our beloved little Cheeky having only had the chance to care for her for 11 months. She was such a sweet little dog who really deserved happiness for her final months. She was much loved and wanted for nothing. I hope that she and Lady Isabelle are having a chat about the quality of life they both experienced in Salisbury. Jenny passed away at the grand age of 17 after giving us 5 years of happiness and fun. She was confident, friendly and very loving and a wonderful chaperone to Lady Isabelle and Cheeky. She adored her walkies right up to the last and got great enjoyment from splashing around in the rivers. We will miss her beyond measure. Little Zack kept firm control of all his ladies. God bless all 4 of them and look after them all.
CHLOE ROLLS She reminded us so much of Lady Isabelle with her determination and charm. Jenny gave her a lot of love and care and we are so pleased that she went from this world feeling that someone, finally, really adored her. It is just such a shame we couldn’t have had her for longer but she did have some nice days out in the car and some good walks Sleep well, sweet Chloe.
BEN HACK An amazing dog, we loved him very much. He brought joy to our lives for almost 10 years. He looked at me, laid his head in my lap and went to sleep quietly and peacefully. I believe he told me it was time. Fly free with the angels Ben.
KERRY BURDETT It’s the goodbye we all dread. Kerry was my soul mate. I miss her golden antics and laughing every day. Molly didn’t cope well and grieved a lot. While she was always near me, she would take herself into the kitchen and lay in Kerry’s favourite places.

PENNY and DAZZLE JAMES They left a gaping hole in our lives that could never be filled and will never be forgotten. We miss them beyond belief but, if there is a consolation, they are together at the Bridge, partners in crime reunited, never to be parted again. They were such a naughty pair but many thanks to Di and Alan for persevering and giving those two reprobates such a wonderful, happy home.
DIGBY and CLEO READER-HOER Our beautiful Mr Marvellous who introduced us to IRR, and the joys of owning a disabled dog. He was a one in a million boy and she was our lovely, pretty lady, who got us back into owning a Goldie again after we lost our first. xxxx
JAKE and ELMO KOSSAKOWSKI naughty but nice, the unforgettable brothers. Those Irish eyes will always be smiling. We love you and will be forever grateful for our time with you.
FRANKIE KOSSAKOWSKI little in size but large in personality.
BUDDY FLYNN He was an amazing, superfit little dog so happy that his tail never stopped wagging. He did remarkable high fives and Buddy hugs. Everyone who met him loved him. He left us as he lived, peacefully and without fuss.
CASEY FLYNN an amazing ambassador for IRR and responsible for several others finding their forever homes. He was Gwen’s soul dog. RIP handsome boy.
TWINKLE ASTOR she is reunited with her beloved mum, Christine, their ashes having been scattered together on their favourite beach. Twinkle had a nice quiet retirement with Christine’s Dad, Jim, who still misses her dreadfully.
SAM PHIPPS Such a sweet soul, he was Tom’s first dog. He was a gentle, brave soul but also a real character who was loved by everyone who met him. We miss him terribly.
BOND HAMMOND loved doing tricks with the grandchildren but, most of all, he loved his cuddles. A cushion with his picture on means we can cuddle him forever. Taken far too soon. Run free Mr Bond. We love and miss you more than you’ll ever know. xxxxxxxxxxxx
CASEY EDWARDS a sweet Springer Spaniel who made very old bones. Casey, you will have the waggiest tail in Heaven. Run free sweet little lady. xxxxx
HARLEY and HELGA EDWARDS He was a bit of a bad lad but he was Owen’s shadow. They did everything together and handsome, clever Harley has left a very big hole in Owen’s heart She was Owen’s very smart GSD x. who was always a popular lady, bagging loads of prizes in the obedience and novelty classes at the Reunions xxx
KIRBY and JAY HAMMOND a lovely big Golden Retriever boy, the patriarch of the family and their lovely Labrador, always a very happy and popular boy xxxx
GILLY and CLEO DRACUP Gilly fought as long as she could and lived as happily as she could until we couldn’t see her struggling to cope any longer. We will remember her forever and will cherish her memory. There could never be another like Gilly (Gill Gill). Then, so soon after losing Gilly, Nigel and Belinda were devastated and spilling even more tears for Cleo. At least, she had lived a very good, long life. She was a wonderful girl who they loved very much.

BISCUIT BULL The 5 weeks old Whippet x Saluki runt of the litter taken on reluctantly. She was my shadow, my 4th child and the children’s protector. Biscuit never had a day’s illness in her life until her heart failed just a few weeks after her 12th birthday. She broke our hearts.

BLUE HEESOM Our first Golden Retriever, we rescued him from the local pound in Stoke to come and live a life of luxury here with us. He brought us so much love and happiness for 7 years, so we had to adopt another rescue dog to honour his memory.
ARCHIE and ROMY BARTHOLOMEW-FLETCHER He was dotty in every way and she was brave, strong-minded, wise and wonderful.
ROSIE HUNT was a Collie Cross who welcomed a nervous Lulu with kindness and ear licks when she came from Romania. She was part older sister and part mother to Lulu but she didn’t provide the fun which was left to Freddie. Everyone missed Rosie desperately.
FREDDIE HUNT was a big, stocky, pushy boy who taught Lulu how to be naughty. Fred was also her guardian, best friend and rock. He would usually settle on top of Lulu but she never minded. For sure he is running in Rainbow Woods exploring and chasing squirrels.
SACHA WOODS She had seven really good years of happiness, proper rags to riches, after her terrible start in Romania. Her life could have been very different had she not been rescued but, thankfully, she was given the opportunity to know how true love feels.
NEMO CASEY He was always the sweetest soul in the world and adored being a pet. Nemo loved to be warm, clean, fed and cuddled. He preferred an easy life, favouring sleepover most other activities. He did love his walks in the fields but there was no chance in bad weather.
BARNEY SMITH In memory of my dear old Barney, a very, very special boy. He almost never left my side and he’s the only dog I have ever seen who smiled Already a senior when you came to me, I wish we’d had more time together.
ROBBIE, TAMMY and JESTER BELL and HOLLY SMITH They have each been a very important part of my life since the age of 6 yrs (when my father thought I was old enough to first have a dog) and they are all still very much loved and missed.
JASPER SHORT it broke our hearts when our gentle red boy was taken so young. He was the sweetest, kindest Doberman who even shared his dinner with our cats.
SALLY and FREDDIE SHORT Our faithful trusting Collie/Retriever lady who was always by our side and he was our huge, naughty but much-loved Lab.

BELLA WATSON – Once a bossy Brit, she became the perfect Florida lady. Bella lived to 15yrs and was adored by Nancy and Wally who miss her still.
MAGGIE WATSON A truly American Golden Retriever who was probably in excess of 14yrs. We hope we gave her the best 3yrs and 9 months of her life. Her loss has left us heartbroken and w still mourn her loss.
KENZIE WILKINS he was one of Gizzie’s favourite foster brothers. Big Ken found a wonderful home with Caroline and Paul and his new very best friend Turner.
TURNER WILKINS a gorgeous black Lab. He helped young Kenzie to settle into his new fantastic life after a horrible start. They soon became inseparable soulmates.
LUCY SEARS cousin to Kenzie and Turner, she became the devoted companion of their Nanny Diana. They were totally devoted to one another and are reunited again forever.
JACK GRANT He was our first rescue dog so could be a challenge but he was such a gentle, loveable rogue and he was loved by all who met him. We miss him terribly as he was an enormous character who loved life. You are always going to be in our hearts.
GUS FRANKCOM We knew Dillan had sent us Gus. Everyone loved him as he was so gentle. We mourn for him with all our hearts but he is now pain-free and running with Cindy and Dillan. We miss and love you.
CINDY FRANKCOM a Terrier, she was our special little angel and there will never be another like her but we are so glad to have been her Mummy and Daddy. Cindy is with Dillan now and he will be looking after her. She loved him to bits but she is probably bossing him around again. My life and sofa are still so empty without her We are heartbroken and just so sad.
DILLAN FRANKCOM He was special as his owners left him in the house and never came back for him. Our son brought him to us and we immediately loved him to bits. He was a huge Lab Cross who weighed in at 42 kilos but he was a big friendly giant and everyone loved him. When Dillan died a spark went with him so Cindy became really depressed
BUTCH FRANKCOM our small Jack Russell, who was 21yrs when he passed. Butch taught Cindy how to be boss, like him, which she performed with feistiness while Dillan gave her the strength to be who she was. Till we meet again, we will love all of you forever. xxxxxxxxxxxx
HARDY CROFTON With his brother, Laurel, he made sure that each person who felt untouched by God’s love knew he or she was loved. He was adored by everyone and especially by those who are invisible to society. Never was a more perfect example of a hero and I am so proud to have been his Mom. An angel both on Earth and in Heaven. xxx
COOPER CROFTON the best Grandpa in the World. After a horrendous life, copious amounts of tears fell and Cooper was surrounded by love, but also heartbreak and deep sorrow, as he passed from this life to where his brother, Hardy awaited him ready to help him cross Rainbow Bridge.
CODY GIBSON Such a special, loving boy with a fantastic temperament despite all he had been through. Any kind of obedience was alien to him but it was such a pleasure being part of this fabulous boy’s life even for such a short time. On the other side of the Bridge, Cody will have joined up with the other Gibson Goldens who live there.
MOLLY GIBSON For sure, she will have taken Cody under her wing as they knew each other before she crossed.
JAKE, SHONA, CONNOR and MEGAN GIBSON All our beautiful boys and girls. RIP and bye for now. xxxxxx
BEN COPLEY Ben was a true gentleman, so well mannered, and a loving member of the family. Forever in our thoughts and now at peace. For sure, PUDSEY will have been there to greet you.
BELLA COLLINS She went to Rainbow Bridge leaving behind a heartbroken Jake and distraught Lesley and Gordon who said they would never find another dog as lovely as Bella. Rest in peace, gorgeous girl.
BUSTER PEACOCK Our Boo went to sleep with us and his brother in the home he loved. He knew nothing but love all his life with us and his passing was the same. Fly high with the angels and wait for us at Rainbow Bridge, darling Boo xx
HONEY CUMMINGS was rescued aged 10yrs with her sister, Bunny, from a flea-ridden, poo filled stable after their owner had died. Thank God she experienced love, happiness and warmth if only towards the end of her life. She was the loveliest dog who always loved a hug and going on walks. She was a little bit sneaky and stole food but you couldn’t get a better dog than Honey and she is much missed by all of her family.
BUNNY TOMEY bossed by her sister Honey so the sisters were split. She loved to cuddle with Golden Retriever Sam and Labrador Jack and was Helen’s little Princess.
JACK TOMEY After helping Bunny to settle, he was suddenly taken to Rainbow Bridge, which left everyone devastated. Rest in peace, Jack.
CONAN TOMEY a gentle character, he adored Bunny and Sam. His time with Helen was all too short but he was extremely happy there.

MEG LONG She was like a cat with 9 lives. She loved Sadie no end. They were always together and such good pals with never a cross word between them.
SADIE LONG The very sad thing was that Sadie never stopped looking behind for Meg when we were out walking. I think Meg may have been calling Sadie to the Bridge as she was missing her. They are together forever now. We tried hard to give them the best out of life that we could and nothing was too much trouble for my girls.
CHARLIE LONG was taken too soon. Poor Daisy had been very sad and missing her beloved Sadie. Daisy was lost without Sadie but, thankfully, Charlie Girl came along at the right time. After a horrendous early life, she still managed to put a smile back on Daisy’s face and our’s too with all her many antics. She was much loved and will be greatly missed by everyone.
DAISY LONG was a much-loved dog. There wasn’t a nasty bone in her body. She had been a very frightened little rescue dog and Sadie was her mentor and best friend. Daisy was so gentle and the perfect dog in every way. She was also beautiful and wiped the floor at the Southern Retriever Rescue Show and at the Reunions, winning many rosettes dog. She even had a bit in a book written about her and was front page on a calendar. RIP sweetheart. Now at Rainbow Bridge with naughty Charlie Girl and the other girls. We will all meet again one day. Gone but never forgotten as you have all left your paw prints on our hearts xx”.
ZACH WORSLEY One of the two Belfast elephants. He had the very best family and the very best life. Bye-bye Zachy… you showed those vets. Your friends, Darcy, Sammy, Guy and the Monster will look after you now. xx
GUY WORSLEY a gorgeous Flatcoat Retriever with the shiniest black coat and waggy tail. Always gentle, he helped to settle all the foster dogs that passed his way and was an amazing friend to Zach and Bertie xxx
CHESTER CHALMERS AJ’s friend, he was old but they still had fun playing and chewing!!!!! Chester was much missed by AJ and his humans when he went to Heaven.
AJ CHALMERS He was best of pals with Doolin and helped him to settle in. They loved their runs on the Yorkshire Dales. AJ ruled the roost in the nicest way andknew just the right look to give and the right time to offer his paw to get a stroke or two.
RUDY CHALMERS So different to Doolie, he was quiet and totally laid back, nothing phased him. He never gave us one second of trouble and was our bundle of joy. He loved dressing up and was so eager to please. We are happy that Rudy and Doolie are together now with AJ as they are no longer in pain but we are very sad as we miss them both terribly.
DOOLIE CHALMERS What an amazing boy, our big old waffle bot, so called because he used to swing his hips as he walked along. He was very clumsy so we named him Doolie the Foolie. What a beautiful boy he was. He gave us nearly ten years of utter joy and love In January 2017 we said “goodbye and see you soon”.
MAX LAKER Doolie’s friend from fostering days. Max and Doolie wouldn’t stop puppy playing until they dropped asleep exhausted. Julie told us they lost their beautiful Max to cancer. It was heartbreaking that he has been cruelly taken too soon. Max was the most friendly, kindest, dog we’ve ever had. We miss him terribly. He left a big hole in our lives.
FAITH GREEN the adorable rescue Lurcher. She was best friends with confident but lovable Emma even though, on Emma’s first night, she decided she was boss and had rights over all of Faith’s toys. Next door neighbours to Holly and Millie, all four girls adored playing together.
HOLLY BUTLER-SPICER She was so special to Alan and Sue and, of course, Milly. They were able to share almost nine wonderful years together. In all that time, they only ever spent one day apart, when Holly had an operation. Holly is happy and young again now at Rainbow Bridge and is reunited with her old next-door neighbour, Faith.
MILLY BUTLER SPICER She had a terrible start in life but, in 2007, this amazingly trusting girl found great happiness with Sue and Alan. This was made even better when, very soon afterwards, her best friend Holly was also adopted. Now, the girls are together forever.
GIZMO ADAMS Our little man, now young again and free of all your earthly ailments. You are always in our hearts and only a thought away. You met up with your old friend KAYA at Rainbow Bridge and were there to welcome your beloved Dad, Ron.
TYSON ADAMS a big, older Labrador who defied all the odds by doing so well for so long. He stole Jackie’s heart and is still much missed by Bridie.

DIXIE You were my first foster girl, sweet Dixie and we will always remember you as the kind, sweet, good-natured little Dixielab that you were. You came to me after having such a hard life but, after all, that has happened to you in your two short years on this earth, you still believed in mankind. Rest in peace my little one and enjoy meeting up with all the other dog angels there at Rainbow Bridge.
QUINN REASTON This lovely boy was specially chosen for Aly and her elderly Mum because of his great capacity for love and his ease of being around someone who was wheelchair-bound. He was exactly what we all imagined he would be and more. A well-travelled boy, in the camper van and then on the train, he was always impeccably behaved and was a great ambassador for his breed. He was very special to a lot of people. xxx
JEZ YEANDLE He was one of the lucky ones who, after a horrible start, had a wonderful life, then didn’t suffer a long illness. Jez took the need for his humans to make that almost impossible decision out of their hands. They found it hard to imagine life without him as, everywhere they went, he came too. He even went to the pub the night before he passed and June sneaked him a bit of sausage. A lovely boy who will never be forgotten. xx
BOBBY BOWDEN Collie cousin to Jez. Seeing him announced the start of another IRR Reunion held in his folk’s caravan park near Bath. A lovely old boy, he is much missed. xx
OLIVER TURNER He proved to be even more special than we had ever imagined he would be. Our love for Oliver knows no bounds. We will never stop loving him and he will never be forgotten. I’m not sure when the tears will cease to flow but he is worth every single one.”
GEORGE COLDICOTT He was very special, a real cuddle monster, so gentle with all that wanted to make a fuss of him and especially with small children who he adored. I loved my time with George and miss him so much. Another Goldie shaped piece of my heart has gone.
MERLIN COLDICOTT He was a true Goldie from his insatiable appetite for food and life to his obstinate, stubborn pig-headedness, especially in old age, but he was truly a beautiful spirit. He was with me for 9 years and he got me through some very bad times during that period.
JUDY COLDICOTT She was Merlin’s special friend and was almost 21yrs when she passed. Unfortunately, even a good long life didn’t make it any easier for those she left behind.
KYA COLDICOTT She was the dog who brought my daughter back to living life to the full again. Not a day goes by that Rachel doesn’t miss her. Thank you Kya, you were a special girl and you came along at just the right time – if only you could have stayed with us longer
DELLA COLDICOTT You defied those who wanted you gone and managed another 2 years after your heartless family got rid of you. I hope you were happy and comfortable with us for those last 14 months. We all loved you. Run free with Zena and Ben until we all meet up again.
ZENA COLDICOTT I cuddled you close and told you how much we love you as you faded away. I cried then, I am crying still as I know I will never hold your soft head in my hands again or look into your deep brown eyes and see into your soul. You were a dog in many millions and will always be in our hearts. We will love and miss you more than words can say.
BEN COLDICOTT you were a gentleman and a character who left a very big hole in our hearts and our lives even though we only had you for such a short time. You were brave and proud yet a softie and a loyal companion and we loved you. With your pain gone, you will be running free at Rainbow Bridge and feeling young and invigorated once more.
FABLE and TARA DICKINSON Joy was mid-wife, carer, or simply advisor, for any unexpected IRR litters and had 2 Golden Retrievers of her own. Fable, the oldest, had a good, long life, passing in 2014. Although the maiden aunt, Fable accepted these strange ladies with their even stranger little squeaky things into her home whilst the experienced Tara, the youngest, a much valued GDBA brood bitch was the doggy advisor and helper. She joined Fable at the Bridge in 2018. It’s not “goodbye” but simply “until we meet again”.
ROONEY EVANS Handsome, gorgeous, wonderful natured, caring and loyal Rooney was the stud dog at the puppy farm that was raided in 2005. He had almost 10 wonderful years with Jill and family before he had a heart attack and crossed over Rainbow Bridge where he joined his babies Bouncer, Chloe and Ciara. Jane’s heart has broken into a thousand pieces.
KELLY PRICE One Rooney’s “wives” she passed over Rainbow Bridge on the same day as Toby and Lizzie so there were 3 beautiful angels flying high together that day. Joy will remember Kelly and her puppies forever. The poor sweet little girl was petrified of everyone so, if visitors came, she took refuge in her spot in the garden. Ali and Kelly had 11 wonderful years together. “ It was a privilege to have her. I’m devastated right now but am glad she got to a good old age and didn’t suffer. She passed away peacefully with me talking to her and reassuring her. Kelly truly was a beautiful and amazing girl. To go from the really shabby start she had to the fantastic friend she became is actually quite remarkable. I’ll always be privileged that she came into my life to enhance it. I miss her so much and the loss is so so painful”.
GOLDIE PRICE Taken way too soon. She was Ali’s teacher. She was big sister to Kelly and waited patiently so they could play and chase rabbits and kites together at Rainbow Bridge.
BOUNCER WARD He was only 7yrs when he, sadly, went to Rainbow Bridge. He was much loved and was greatly missed by his family. We are sure that his very good friend Teddy, who made the journey shortly before, would have been waiting for him.
CHLOE COMPTON Originally called Shannon, she was given the name Chloe when she went to live with Jill and Derek. After a very happy 8 years together but far too soon, she was taken from them in the Spring of 2013, leaving them totally heartbroken.
CIARA SWAIN went to the Bridge in Dec 2014. Linda said, “she gave me her all”.
XANDA SWAIN her 12-year-old Retriever Cross passed six weeks before and it was heartbreaking. “I hope they are now playing happily together again over Rainbow Bridge. I’m missing them both so much xx”
LILLI WATKINS She was Pam’s best friend, the love of her life and she knew she always came first. Lilli’s legs couldn’t carry her any longer although she was eating until the end, which was calm and peaceful. “She had 2 walks a day no matter what the weather, lots of doggy friends and plenty of love and affection but I was the lucky one to have her in my life for so long”.

PRINCESS HOLLY THOMPSON What can I say? Our precious Holly who lived far, far longer than predicted. We’re so glad that we were chosen to take care of you and you will be part of our lives forever.
BELLA THOMPSON Our big and beautiful Bella, you mothered poor Sandy and looked after loads of foster dogs. We love you loads and think about you every day. You and your best friend Josie went to the Bridge within a few weeks of each other and we miss you so much.
JOSIE THOMPSON My little ginger pickle. As soon as you arrived, we knew you wouldn’t be a foster dog for long. About two minutes, I think! You were such a fun dog, always into mischief and making us laugh. We adored you, little one and we miss you so very much.
FLOSSIE THOMPSON You kept that ever-changing mob under total control, darling Floss. We miss you and all the others. Thank you for being in our lives for so many years.
BRUTUS THOMPSON (aka Boots). My soulmate. You’ve been gone for almost 20 years now but I still miss you every day and often talk to you. I just hope that humans can go to Rainbow Bridge as well, then I’ll get to see you again.
LEO THOMPSON You were with us for such a short time but you had a lasting effect. You introduced us to that adorable breed, the Golden Retriever. Wish we could have known you for longer, darling boy.
PERRY THOMPSON What can I say? Darling Perry – my King of the World. My sunshine dog. You couldn’t stay with us for very long and we miss you so much.
SANDY THOMPSON My precious baby dog. You had such bad health, poor lad, but through it all you laughed and played. You were so sad when Perry went to the Bridge but we found Bella for you and you were happy again. Now you’re reunited with them both.
CASSIE THOMPSON II With us for such a short time but you made your mark, lovely girl. We miss you and hope you’re having fun up there with Bella.
BONNIE THOMPSON Little Bonnie who arrived looking like an old rug and smelling like a rubbish bin. We couldn’t believe the change in you when the vet sorted out your medication and you had a bath. You were a lovely girl, so gentle and always happy. Wish you could have stayed longer, darling. We miss you.
SABRE THOMPSON Sir Sabre Hugalot, love of Suki’s life and the most adorable boy. We miss you loads, Sabe and often talk about you. Hope you’ve got loads of tennis balls at the Bridge.
SUKI THOMPSON What can I say about Suki, the Empress? A huge personality and ultimately the huge age of 18. We miss you all the time, Sooks – the sofa looks cold and empty without you sitting there and bossing everyone around. We loved you so much.
RILEY THOMPSON Darling Riley, you were really ill by the time you got to us so all we could do was to help you have a comfortable and loving time until you were ready to go. You were the most gentle and loving boy – the epitome of the perfect goldie, we miss you so much
JACK THOMPSON and my little Jack the Lad, bravely soldiering on through all his problems. You were such a lovely lad, sweet and loving but with a big mischievous streak. We miss you too and all the fun you brought with you.
KIM THOMPSON Poor darling Kim. Not really on the same planet as the rest of us but so loving and content to be here. It was a privilege to take care of you and when the time came, to allow you to go with dignity. We miss you, sweetie.

SPANGLER COOPER After a severe vaccine reaction, Spangler passed at the tender age of 3 years old. “We are so glad that we had you. As years have gone by, the tears have stoppedand the pain has faded but you are still forever in our hearts”.
HENRY COOPER The best boy ever, our house is very empty without his huge loving personality. We are feeling empty and Jasper is missing his partner in crime.
LISA MORRIS Pam’s teacher and healer. She was paralysed by an annual vaccination. The clues had been with symptoms getting worse after each jab. Homoeopathy and hydrotherapy helped Lisa when conventional treatments didn’t. A wonderful girl whose suffering paved the way for Pam’s enlightenment and spiritual path. Lisa is still remembered fondly.
CASEY MORRIS Related to Barney, Ricky and Eddie, she welcomed Silver and Kimba into her home and helped them to settle. It showed how special Silver was as, normally, Casey was averse to males after bad memories from her previous home. She was a wonderful girl.
SILVER and KIMBA MORRIS He was a lovely lad, a real joy to be with. Silver was good with people, children and cats and even aggressive dogs left him alone. He would wobble over to say hello and always got away with it. Pam was the perfect Mum for both Silver and Kimba as, despite both dogs having many severe health and emotional problems, Pam gave them the best lives possible. They regained their trust in humanity and both were wonderful ambassadors for their breed and a total credit to her. Kimba had 8 wonderful years with Pam and Roger.
TOBY NUTTLEY He was Kimba’s son. As a 12-year-old dog, Toby had lived a long and happy life so, with plenty of cuddles and a few slices of ham, we made the hardest decision of all. He will always be with us. Who could forget that lazy, lovable, dopey dog who had a heart as big as his stomach and a tail that would wag for anyone.
HOLLY ROBERTS She shared our lives for 5 wonderful years making her 13’ish. There is now a Holly shaped hole in our lives. We are missing you so much. Run free over Rainbow Bridge, Hollypop”. For sure, dear Holly is now happily reunited with her old friend Teddy.
TEDDY ROBERTS His sight had gone and his general condition deteriorated to the point where his quality of life was no longer good so that awful decision had to be taken but we were happy to know he was running free and whole again at Rainbow Bridge.
GUIDO TURNER He was 15yrs old but he did things with enormous enthusiasm even though his poor old legs limited him somewhat. We feel very privileged that Guido chose us to spend his last years with. We will love you forever little man, fly free with the Angels RIP. xxx
LOUIS NOBLE My amazing boy has gained his wings. He really was my soul dog and I’ll always miss him. He had a brilliant three and a half years of love and luxury with heartbroken Barb and the lovely Lottie. It was a far cry from the horrible life he had endured before. Never forgotten and loved forever.
DAWN MORGAN She was almost 9 years old and had been with us for 3 years, hopefully, the best 3 years of her life after the hell of being used extensively for breeding. She had enjoyed lots of lovely walks in the countryside, wonderful holidays and plenty of love and attention. It is always a difficult decision but for Dawn, it was the right one. She was a beautiful girl and will always be our little princess.
ROGER MORGAN a lovely black Lab and great friend to Dawn. She was often seen laying outside with him or they would be sleeping happily together on the sofa. With never a cross word between them, you’d have thought they’d been together forever.
MILLY MORGAN She was almost 14 years and just very tired. We have enjoyed sharing the last 8 years with her. Milly went peacefully at home and has left a massive hole in our lives.
FLOYD MORGAN Milly left behind her adopted half brother, Floyd, who, sadly, followed her to The Bridge 6 months later. He was just short of 14yrs when he passed.
RUBI MORGAN A lovely little lady, taken after only 8 months with us. We couldn’t allow you to suffer and all miss you so much, especially your brother Osca xxxxxxxx.
MANDY ROBERTSON my Aunty’s wonderful GSD who made my childhood holidays in Wales a total delight. You were so gentle and loving, obedient and friendly. My great love of dogs developed though knowing you and I always knew, from then on, would, one day, have a beautiful GSD of my own. I know you are the chief dog angel watching over me.
BOBBY JEFFEREY our first boy, Bobby Big Ears, he taught us so much. He swam like a fish and tracked like a Bloodhound and will always be our Numero Uno

MAXWELL JEFFEREY your Daddy’s faithful, loving boy, his shadow from the day we rescued you. You had spent your early life chained up and alone but ended up living with 3 more GSDs, 2 Crossbreeds and a Golden Retriever. What memories we have.

FOXY SMITH She loved to stay for holidays with Josh and on her own after he passed. Foxy had a wonderful home with Julia, Dave and the boys and in return, she adored them all. They wanted her to go with some dignity but are devastated as she was a huge part of their lives and the house seems so quiet without her.

SANDY DRAY a Cocker Spaniel (1970-1978). He was a great friend but, sadly, fits meant he was taken too soon by the angels.
KESSIE DRAY a Cocker Spaniel (1978- 1983) who loved the beach and long walks but had to have an ear operation and, sadly, died 5 days later.
MISHKA DRAY a Golden Retriever (1983-1997). He was a great companion who lived a long and happy life. His back legs eventually gave out during a visit to the vet. It was just a month before his 14th birthday.
BRUNO DRAY a Golden Retriever (1983-1992 ). Another great companion. Sadly, he developed liver cancer and only survived 2 weeks. He passed away at the vets.
PADDY DRAY a Golden Retriever (1992- 2005). He was lovely and very loyal. He loved the beach and the park.
TOBY DRAY a Golden Retriever (1996-2010). He came to us at a time when I was very down. I phoned the breeder the day he was born and we had him at 8 weeks. As I was very poorly, he was my whole life. His loss was almost too hard to bear.
KERRIE DRAY a Golden Retriever (2005-2014). She was a rescue and such a lovely girl. She came to us and it was as though we had had her forever. Her back legs gave out and she also had fits over the weekend. The vet came to the house to put her to sleep when there was no chance to save her. They are all sadly missed and forever in my heart.
JIMMY TOOKE, a wonderful Labrador Cross and favourite Sponsor Dog. Sally’s Forever Foster boy, sometimes a grumpy old man but always lovable. The house is too tidy and far too quiet without him. Sleep peacefully, beloved boy
FREDDIE TOOKE, another Forever Foster. We only had him for 2 months but he was so loving and gentle, nobody could fail to be charmed by him – he would hear a bag rustle and hey presto he was there. We miss him but he is free of all pain now.
BUDDY TOOKE He was a gentle, fun-loving dog who was always smiling. All who met him loved him and he is still greatly missed by Sally, Graham and all his little dog and cat friends. He was another favourite Sponsor Dog. His passing was really peaceful with Buddy’s head resting gently on Sally’s knee.
