Amy

(Was Eloise)

Amy (was Eloise) is a pretty cream coloured girl who is supposed to be a two year old Golden Retriever although IRR believes there may be a Cross somewhere in her family.

HISTORY

Eloise came through our good friend, Michelle, in the fantastic Offaly Dog Pound which deals with dogs in the Offaly area. IRR have taken many Goldens through Michelle and, when Kathryn met this little beauty, she fell hook, line and sinker.

Eloise had been found straying and was unclaimed. Although many people had applied to adopt her, it is always preferred that dogs like Elois are rehomed through a breed rescue so the rescuers can be sure they are going to get the very best possible home. She was groomed upon pick up by Kathryn and she saw a vet straightaway for a check up.

PERSONALITY
She is very affectionate with a loving personality and she loves cuddles.

SOCIAL LEARNING
TRAVEL: Although scared initially, she travelled well in the car once Kathryn played
her “The Carpenters” which calmed her nicely.
HOUSETRAINING: On arrival, it was unknown as to whether she was house-trained or not.
LEADWALKING: Eloise walks well on a lead
DOGS: She is good with other dogs
CHILDREN: As it was unknown how she would react with children, we thought she would be best suited to an adult home.

THE DREAM HOME FOR ELOISE

A couple, with time to spare and who have dealt with rescues in the past, would be ideal for Elois as she can be scared. She would benefit greatly from having another dog for company and to show her the ropes

THIS IS HOME AND I AM STAYING (DECEMBER 2016)

When the Irish fosterers applied to foster Eloise, it was always with the hope that they would adopt her. They ticked all the boxes, had life long experience with rescues and they had plenty of time. After the inital home-check was done and they had met Eloise, they were as smitten as was Kathryn.

Eloise, now renamed Amy, was adopted just before the New Year which was a few months after their beautiful Golden, Chloe, had died. Amy has a new brother, Bruce, who thinks she is a bit of a nut as she dances round the bed, running excitedly in circles, as if to say. ‘This bed is mine, this is MY mum and dad and My brother’ This is home and I’m staying!!

IRR of course is thrilled to say that ‘We’ve done it again. Success! Happy New Year Amy”.
