Amy

OCTOBER 2011 – NOW IN HER FOREVER HOME

FOSTERER UPDATE

Amy was found as a stray and sadly was never claimed. She is being fostered with Helen, John and family. Helen says: Amy soon settled down after being introduced to Ellie and Molly, our two golden retrievers. Amy does pull on the lead to start with but then soon settles down.

Amy loves to play with the girls being very loving but she does mouth if excited. Amy has shown no sign of food aggression and loves her food. Amy is very interested in anything that flies.

She is very clean in the house and loves her toys but is not really into chasing balls. Amy would cuddle all day and has lots of love to give to humans and other dogs, but she is not that keen on cats.

I feel Amy needs a family that has a lot of time to devote to her as she needs some training with a firm hand. I would say she would be happy with other dogs but they would need to be able to put her in her place. Because of her constant mouthing I would not recommend a family with young children.

2nd FOSTERER UPDATE

Amy is a little bundle of beans with bounds of energy very typical of a puppy and tries to mouth people quite often so this habit will need to be addressed by her adopters.

We took all three dogs to visit our friends in their enclosed paddock. Amy loved playing off lead with the other dogs especially in the stream. Her recall is very good until she sees a bird flying past then she gives chase. Amy loves to nuzzle close to people, dogs or what ever she can get close to. Amy has improved on the lead although she pulls at first but then she settles down and is a pleasure to walk now.

Amy sleeps well, loves her food and also adores playing with her toys in the garden.

Amy is such a sweet girl and could melt the heart of anyone but don’t let the cuteness stop you from letting her know when she has done wrong.

October 2011 – AMY HAS NOW GONE TO HER ‘FOREVER’ HOME

Amy has gone to live with Collette, Sky and family

UPDATE NOVEMBER 2011

Just an update on the gorgeous Amy! She went to dog training class last night and had a lovely time. She was really good and did a perfect recall – coming straight to me and ignoring the other dogs.

We have been for long walk through the woods this morning and then she has been having a great game of chase around the garden with Sky which was lovely to see – Sky is really getting used to her now and is not as jealous.

They were out there running around together for about 20 minutes and so are now both fast asleep!

They were doing a bit of agility with the dogs at work yesterday and there was a note when I went to pick them up to say that Amy had come 3rd in the agility competition and she had been a very good girl!
