Archie

ARCHIE’S HISTORY

Ten month old Archie (was Duffy) was surrendered owing to a change in circumstances.

REPORT FROM IRELAND (FEBRUARY 2012)

Archie has lived on a farm surrounded by fields of sheep and never moved a muscle to get to them. He has THE most wonderful temperament, is great with other dogs and neither toy nor food possessive. He’s housetrained and has basic manners, will sit immediately upon command. He pulls a bit on the lead but soon settles into the walk. A very even tempered dog, he could fit into any situation.

FOSTERER’S REPORT (MARCH 2012)

Archie arrived from transport at 5.00am Tuesday morning. He greeted us with a waggly tail. When we got home we went out for a walk so we could introduce our girls to Archie. Right from the word go he has been a gentleman and was very accepting that Ellie our Labrador is boss.

He has quickly adapted to our routine. He loves my children and anyone that comes to the house is greeted with enthusiasm. He is amazing on his lead and also excellent off his lead in the field and loves to chase and retrieve a ball with my girls. He has basic manners and would do very well at training classes as he is eager to learn.

I would say he is one of the most handsome dogs I have ever seen. No picture could do him justice as the colour of his coat is stunning. When we are out walking he is the star attraction as people stop to admire him.

He is a typical 10 month old Goldie; he can be boisterous and accepts when you tell him to stop. He does mouth but again if you tell him no he will listen. I would say that someone has worked hard with him and the result is a lovely boy.

Whoever gives Archie a forever home gains a wonderful gentleman and a bundle of fun.

REPORT FROM ARCHIE’S FOREVER HOME (April 2012)

Archie is such a gorgeous boy and so laid back. Molly has checked him out and after a few growls last night has decided that he’s ok. Riley has tried to get Archie to play and he certainly thought about it so I expect it will happen soon.

He slept really well last night once we had persuaded him to lie on the floor rather than the bed! I took all three out this morning and had no problems. We will use a lunge line with Archie until we get his recall perfect as there are sheep and lambs about in nearby fields. At the moment all three dogs are flat out behind me on the floor.

ANOTHER CHANGE (December 2012)

Due to his owner’s health problems, Archie has had to go to another new Forever Home where he will be living with Paddy

REHOMING REPORT (13th Dec 2012)

We collected Archie on Saturday 8th December and, by Sunday 9th, I thought I really needed my head examined; it was a total mad house.

Paddy, being the strong minded puppy that he is, decided he was going to be the boss. Archie, being a total softie, just went along with it.

Thankfully, they have now calmed down a teeny bit and are enjoying each other’s company. It’s a total joy to watch them running in the fields at the back of the house. I just wish I had that much energy.
