Bailey

A SPECIAL LETTER FROM BAILEY

Bailey and Roxy are the best of friends. They have lived together in a happy family situation their whole lives and they are totally inseparable so a home together is a must.

Due to a change in family circumstances, the two girls were going to have to go to the Pound had IRR not taken them. There was, of course, no question about taking the two of them especially when Bailey wrote us a personal letter herself.

“Hello. My name is Bailey and I am a thorough bred Golden Retriever. I am 5 years old. I have a sister, Roxy, who is a Jack Russell and she is 6 years old.

We are both house trained and we love children. When we hear children outside playing we go out and play with them.

We love walks on the lead and off. We never run away and always come back when called.

We love tummy rubs and relaxing in the evening in our beds.

When its dinner time we get so excited we can’t wait so we will both talk to you in doggy language to hurry it up. We also love being talked to and may answer back sometimes.

We love being together as we grew up together and mind each other. We are also friendly with other dogs and spend some time with friends when we have a sleepover in their house.

We don’t like it when we hear children crying as this upsets us too and we must investigate whether everything is ok, even if that means sitting at the end of the stairs as we are not allowed up there.

We have a teddy each that we love and snuggle at night but we will promise to love you too xx”

ASSESSMENTS IN FOSTER FOR BAILEY

Having received their vet checks in Ireland and obtained their Pet Passports, they travelled to the UK and were fostered in Scotland by Lynn.

PERSONALITY

Bailey is a lovely polite, calm and well mannered, spayed, 5 year old Golden Retriever. She is a gentle soul who gets along well with other dogs. She is not pushy and, if anything, hangs back slightly. She takes confidence from her best friend Roxy and they get on extremely well and play together. Bailey is a  super affectionate special girl . She is a well adjusted lovely dog who would make a super addition to anyone’s family.

HEALTH

She seems to have very good health but I’m still undecided about her mobility. She is a little overweight but can sometimes appear stiff when walking. I think it might well be something as simple as soft pads on stony ground.

 SOCIAL LEARNING

TRAVEL: She is happy and content travelling in a vehicle

HOUSETRAINING: Bailey is housetrained

BASIC TRAINING: She has had some basic training

LEAD TRAINING: Bailey walks well on a slip lead, a halti or a harness

RESOURCE GUARDING: She shows no evidence of resource guarding

SEPARATION ANXIETY: Bailey shows no signs of separation anxiety as long as she is with Roxy.

ADULTS: She is very friendly with adults

CHILDREN: At Lynn’s she was not tested with children but she has lived with children and really loves them.

DOGS: Bailey is very friendly with other dogs.

CATS: At Lynn’s she was not tested with cats.

A DREAM HOME FOR BAILEY AND ROXY

The most important thing for Bailey and Roxy is that they live together for the rest of their lives.

Their needs are simple …….. good food, nice walks and loads of cuddles.

In return, their lucky adopters will have two fabulous canine companions and very loving, loyal friends for life.

TOGETHER FOR LIFE (September 2018)
