Barney

Age: 12 to 18 months old

Sex: Male – neutered

History

Barney is a large golden retriever cross. He came to IRR from a pound and is currently being fostered in the North London area.

When Barney came to IRR he was under-socialised and desperately seeking guidance. After a few weeks with his foster home he’s a changed man! He has learned to walk on a harness and his manners inside the house are impeccable.

Personality
A bouncy, lively, affectionate and very playful boy. He loves food, which will help with his ongoing training. He has got used to living with cats, dogs and small furries. He is friendly with other people, great with children and is gentle when taking treats. Barney loves his toys and he comes when he’s called. He has one last area to work on, and that is to learn to ignore other dogs when out walking. Barney is so in love with life and with the world that he can’t get the idea out of his head that when he sees another dog it would be rude not to try to introduce himself. Other than that, he’s the perfect pup.

Barney’s dream home
A home where he will be with older children so he won’t get into trouble for knocking little ones over in his enthusiasm, and with active people who share his love and zest for life and who will love him for the big, wonderful personality that he is
