Beau Bishop

Gone to Rainbow Bridge

Sad News 10 November 2023

Beau’s mum said,” To all at IRR, I thank you for giving Beau in my life. Difficult as he was, he gave me much comfort after Syd. I will miss his early morning wake-up call with a soft toy stuffed in my face. There was nothing more anyone could do for his neurological problems. He was dragging his body so much it was painful to watch. He passed away peacefully in my arms at 4pm today. I felt like a failure but my love wasn’t enough nor any medication. Just want to thank you IRR because I gave all I could.”

BEAU IS HOME

Beau’s lovely Mum, Elizabeth said “He’s home now and we have to accept his short life was filled with lots of love, kindness and care. It’s sad that just when I was beginning to enjoy his being and his trust that I had to let go. Axa is very quiet these days and frail, so I’ve been keeping her company and pray I have her for a little longer God willing. Everyone says to have a small dog instead of a big one but I looked after 2 small ones at the weekend and I couldn’t accept the yapping one. They were spoilt to the core and I know in my heart I’ll look for another Golden boy to care for”.

Rest peacefully Beau xx

History

OUR FIRST DAY (21.9.2019)

The next day, Elizabeth gave us a further update on Beau saying “He’s a cheeky boy and he has a fetish for tea towels! He gets terribly excited when I try to wash and dry him. I found my tea towel in the middle of the lawn and five plastic flower pots in the hall.

He has overcome his fear of the stairs today and he slept on the landing while I was updating my work. In fact, I had to wake both of them this morning as they were fast asleep without a murmur.

He still pulls but I’ve managed to halt the walk and sit on one of the benches for a break which he likes as we meet fellow walkers. He does walk with a limp sometimes so I’ll be keeping an eye on his progress. This boy needs a lot of love and reassurance which I pray he’ll get loads of from Axa and me.

HISTORY

Beau is a gorgeous Golden Retriever who was aged between 3 – 5yrs when he was fostered by Paula in Lancashire in 2019.

OFF TO HIS NEW HOME (20.9.2019)

Elizabeth posted late on Facebook after driving to Paula’s place in Blackburn to visit Beau saying “Beau and Axa met each other and I’m pleased to say that they got on fine.

When he got home, Beau loved the garden and started watering my plants immediately, soI’ve put the agricultural fencing back on to keep him away from the borders.

He’s a delightful little boy but has some fears of the stairs and I must be gentle and patient with him. His lead walking is tricky but I keep reminding him he’s a city boy now and we have to be wary of crossing roads before we get to the farm.

So on the first night, all three of us are zonked! Thank you to Paula, Kathryn and IRR for this gorgeous boy”.
