Benji

Benji is a 11 year old cream coloured, male Labrador.  This wonderful boy has received all the vaccinations necessary for travel, has been neutered and groomed.

HISTORY

Benji came through our good friends in Cork, DAWG, a fantastic rescue that deals with dogs in Cork. He belonged to someone who had died and, sadly for the dear old chap, the family didn’t want to keep him. When DAWG contacted IRR and explained the situation, IRR knew that it was important to get him to our fantastic Irish fosterer, Cathleen, who has fostered many a Golden and has a lovely mix of dogs who we knew would give him a real spurt to go on.

HEALTH

He has arthritis and this does affect his gait, however, he still manages to enjoy his life.

PERSONALITY

He has a loving personality, and like most Labradors, is very affectionate. He was, clearly, missing his owner to whom he had been devoted. Benji has a really sweet, gentle personality but he still has a mischievous streak and can rob a toy or two without you even realising it. He seems to be happiest when he feels part of the family but, like many older dogs, he also likes a have a spot for him to retire when everything gets a wee bit too much for him.

SOCIAL LEARNING

HOUSETRAINING & BASIC TRAINING: He is superbly clean in the house and is a very good boy as would be expected from a dog who has been so well loved all his life. DOGS: He doesn’t seem to mind at all if there are other dogs in the house.

BENJI’S DREAM HOME

Benji has made a lasting impression on Cathleen who says “he is a darlin’ boy who would fit in anywhere. A short walk in the morning and evening and he is happy. He just needs a spot to rest his head and sit beside the fire when the weather turns cold.”

MARCH 2017

Unsurprisingly, dearest Benji is staying with Cathleen who has completely fallen in love with him.
