Bertie

JULY 2016

Bill has written to let us know that his beautiful boy has passed the Kennel Club gold Test to add to the Silver and Bronze.Well done Bertie.

HISTORY

Bertie is a 3 year old, male neutered Golden Retriever who was surrendered to IRR because his owner died. He is blind in one eye but this makes no difference at all to his quality of life.

Personality
Beautiful Bertie is a lovely biddable chap, good in the car once he gets into it (though that is a challenge!). He’s not at all food possessive, quite strong on the lead, but good once he gets into his stride. He gets on with everyone, kids, other dogs and cats. He’s lived indoors and appears to have been very well cared for. He is somewhat overweight and will need a calorie controlled diet and gentle exercise to bring him back to optimum condition.

Bertie’s dream home
This boy would be suited to a reasonably calm environment, perhaps with older kids, where he can be the centre of attention, with plenty of love and a reasonable amount of daily exercise.

Behaviour with other animals – good with dogs and cats.

Fostered in – Lancs
