Bryn Johnston

Gone to Rainbow Bridge

Sad News 8 June 2021

Bryn’s mum, Lorraine, said, “Today we said goodbye to the most precious gentle soul. For my miracle boy there were no more miracles. Bryn, You were the bravest strongest boy, you well and truly earned your sleep and I’ll love you ’till eternity.”

A QUIET BOY’S HISTORY

Bryn, who was originally called Buster, was a 3.5 yr old neutered Golden Retriever who had been surrendered to IRR because he was too quiet.

NOV 2011: FOSTERER’S INITIAL REPORT

Buster was fostered by Andy and Val in West Midlands. They said “Buster is a beautiful, loving quiet dog who loves being inside. He loves children, adores going on walks and being cuddled. He’s a big dog but likes to be treated as a puppy”.

“The first thing you notice about Buster is his unique facial markings, which set him above the more ‘common or garden’ standard Goldies.

A little timid and confused when he arrived, Buster has now made himself at home, and grows in confidence daily. He gets on great with Smudge, and they’re rarely very far apart. He’s pretty much the perfect dog, getting on well with all the people and dogs he meets, although I’m not in a position to cat test him.

He’s perfectly house trained, fine to be left, and is a dream on the lead. He was a little unsure about the car at first, but is getting used to it, and I’m sure will come to enjoy going for a ride. Buster adores a fuss, and is quick to remind you not to stop.

Buster is a joy to have around, and at only 3 years old will give someone years of pleasure and companionship”.

DEC 2011: UPDATE

Because people regarded his markings as facial disfigurement, sadly, nobody showed any interest in Buster but that turned out to be to his advantage as he was adopted by our UK Coordinator, Lorraine.

DEC 2011: BUSTER HAS NOW GONE TO HIS FOREVER HOME

Buster who became Bryn, or Brynnie to his friends, went off happily to his forever home with Lorraine and Monster Martha, her 12 yr old yellow Labrador, who definitely rules the roost there.
