Charlie

CHARLIE and BELLA HAVE A FANTASTIC HOME TOGETHER

THEIR HISTORY

Both dogs were vaccinated and microchipped and have their Pet Passports for travel to the UK.

Bella and Charlie were relinquished by their owner due to extremely tragic circumstances.

Their very sad owner told us “I have had my two dogs, Charlie and Bella, for 5 years. Charlie is a pure bred German Shepherd that we had from 12 weeks, and Bella is a Golden Retriever that we got from Inistioge Rescue Centre shortly afterwards. Both dogs are up to date with vaccines and are neutered/spayed and microchipped.

Two years ago my husband died suddenly and I have 3 young children.

Until recently, I have worked shift work but I have started a new job which involves 13 hour days with a long commute. I have no family nearby.

I have spent the last 2 months looking to rehome the dogs myself to no avail. I cannot afford doggy daycare or a dog walker.

Both dogs are restless and out of sorts due to lack of attention and it has come to the stage that I realise my only option is to rehome them. I am not making this decision lightly”.

We were contacted in the hope of re-homing them and, although IRR is a Golden Retriever Rescue, it was clear they could not be split as poor Bella would have been broken-hearted. Fortunately, a fabulous UK fosterer who had extensive knowledge of both breeds offered to foster them and IRR promised the owners that we would get them a fabulous home together.

CHARLIE’S HISTORY

Charlie is a stunning, very large,  tri-colour GSD who has been with his owners since he was 12 weeks old and in 2017 was 5 years old.

He is very placid and intelligent and very active. Charlie is strong but once walked is very gentle. He needs long walks and has no problem with travelling by car. He usually goes off lead on walks and is well behaved on lead. He likes to explore but comes back as directed.

Charlie fretted a little in the car but this was probably because of all the commotion of losing his family. He is housetrained and is a house dog who sleeps on his blanket Charlie is not possessive of food or toys. He is excellent with children, having grown up with three young children.

He is good with other dogs but has never lived with a cat. He does like barking loudly at the cat next door and the postman.

CHARLIE’S DREAM HOME

Charlie is a fabulous boy and he deserves a home where he can be spoiled and loved and where he can live out his life with his pal Bella. They just want to be together but a home with some land where they can get lots of exercise would be the icing on the cake.

GREAT NEWS (DECEMBER 2017)

Charlie and Bella have been adopted by their fosterers.
