Cuillin

Cuillin (pronounced Coolin) is a stunning looking young Golden Retriever who is in foster in Scotland where he was surrendered to IRR. His date of birth was 21.12.2014. He is neutered and has had a clean bill of health.

PERSONALITY
He is exactly what you would expect of a 20 month old Golden Retriever. Cuillin is a lively, playful, confident, happy boy, with a high amount of energy, and he can just keep going all day but he is not over exciteable and can sometimes be quite calm and laid back. He is alert and inquisitive and is very friendly to all people but does gravitate towards females.

SOCIAL LEARNING
Lyn, his fosterer, says he is well socialized and trained in basic commands and has shown no signs of separation anxiety.

Travel: He is happy and content and travels really well in the car.

Housetraining: Cuillin is house-trained.

Leadwalking and recall: He walks nicely on a slip lead and is 80% obedient but, like many Golden Retrievers, he can have selective hearing.

Resource guarding: He isn’t food or toy possessive and there has been absolutely no evidence of resource guarding.

Children: He has not been brought up with children but has shown no signs of not liking them when he has met them out and about. He is very friendly but would be too boisterous for young children.

Dogs: Cuillin is very friendly with other dogs but he enjoys typical rough GR play so a very timid type of dog may not stand up to him.

Cats: He seems to be fine with cats

CUILLIN’S DREAM HOME
Cuillin prefers women to men so he should, ideally, live with a couple or a single female. He needs to be rehomed with another dog who will play with him and with people who will have plenty of time to devote to him.
