Foster Friends Gallery

Message from Jackie

Happy Reunion amongst canine friends.  Two of my previous foster dogs, Quinn whom I rehomed with Aly at the 2007 Reunion (a few tears were shed there I can tell you) and Jez who found his forever home at the 2008 Reunion (more tears shed)

As all fosterers know, when it comes to the time that our foster dogs have to leave us to go to their new forever homes, it is often a case of extreme emotions. First of which is the wrenching of the heart as deep down you would have loved to have kept them. Then the worry as you hope that your much loved foster dog will be cared for and loved in the same way you have done. Finally happiness at the fact they have settled in very well in their new homes and you have received those long awaited pics and updates from their new owners, showing just how happy your foster dog is.

I feel that each of our foster dogs takes a little piece of our hearts with them when they go, so it’s just as well that we all have very big hearts.

It’s then that you can feel at peace and know that it’s time to get ready and prepare yourself for the next dog that needs your particular brand of TLC.

Fostering is not easy by any means, but it is sooo rewarding seeing all our foster dogs happy and healthy in their new homes as well as being able to meet up with them again at our annual Reunions.

I would like to send out a BIG THANK YOU to all of our fosterers for their help throughout the year, for all their support, time and tender loving care they give to our to all our dogs.

I’d also like mention our failed fosterers, the ones who could not resist their foster dog’s charms lol. Thank you all for giving your foster dogs such lovely forever homes.

The photos show Quinn, his mum Aly, Jez, his dad Rob, myself and my husband Ron.

THANK YOU

From your Friendly Fosterer Co-ordinator
