George

GEORGE’S HISTORY

George was born on 30 April 2012 and was surrendered by his owner due to work commitments.

Fosterer’s 1st report – Ireland October 2012

George has an incredible temperament for a 6mth old pup. He really is just very laid back. He absolutely adores kids and will jump up on adults but has never once jumped up on either of the kids. It’s as if he knows they are little!

George adores football and is a David Beckham in the making. He is a typical goldie and needs to have something in his mouth at all times and likes to gobble socks and chew shoes. He will drop when you ask him to.

He hasn’t shown any food aggression issues around humans and I can put my hand in his food bowl no problem.

George is very much a pup who thrives on company, and in my opinion, is a great starter dog for a family. He is uncomplicated and quick to learn. He has learnt to give the paw and lie down on command in the space of a couple of days. He is also learning to respond to his name.

Fosterer’s 1st report – UK: 31st October

George is a lovely 6 month old pup, who is interested in anything and everything. He is constantly on the lookout for things to pick up and carry around. Some things get demolished, some live to see another day, but on the whole he is not a destructive pup.

George counter surfs a lot and will take things off the tops if given the chance. You do need to be one step ahead so he doesn’t get into trouble.

He hasn’t shown any signs of food aggression and he does allow me to take things out of his mouth if need be (not food related). He eats well.

George is friendly towards other dogs and is eager to say hello. He plays alright with our dog, but does become a little too much for her at times, although she is a little timid.

He walks fairly well on the lead although does need checking at times, but with on-going training he should be a pleasure to take out. He is very interested on his walks and likes to investigate everything.

George travels well in the car and attempts to jump in so as he grows should do this with ease.

George hasn’t been left home alone yet, but has been left, separated by a stair gate. with our dog and things have been ok on our return.

George is not Cat tested but has shown interest out walking. He is interested in our small furries but does not bark at them much.

George is fairly laid back but does become excitable if the kids are excitable, so a careful eye would need to be kept on them if he was placed with noisy small kids (like mine)

On the whole he is a gentle laid back pup who doesn’t jump up much, doesn’t bark at the doorbell, is a pleasure to have around and settles well at night.

Fosterer’s 2nd report – 5th November 2012

George has settled well and is such a lovable puppy. He loves attention and will bark for you to come and play. He’s always on the wander to see what he can find and will pick things up in his mouth. He is an active boy who loves to go out for walks and is friendly towards other dogs and people, When out he does tend to try to jump up at people to say hello and to be fussed and does become very excitable. He will need further on-going training, but he is a pleasure to take out and people always admire him. He doesn’t jump up at people in the home and is lovely to have around.

He does have the odd “accident” on the carpet but it is not often. He needs to be let out fairly regularly just in case.

He can get up the stairs but does prefer to sleep in the hall downstairs, He sleeps well and will normally only wake up if he hears movement upstairs.

He eats well and is able to sit and watch our dog eat her meal without attempting to steal her food, although he loves to clean her bowl for her!

He is aware of anyone who sits on the couch to eat a meal etc. so anyone should be aware of this as he would pinch the meal like a shot.

He is afraid of hoovers but hasn’t been bothered by the fireworks.

He does enjoy getting on the sofa for a nap!

George has gone to his forever home – November 2012

George’s new owners came to meet him and they were over the moon with him so took him home to join their family.

It sounds like he will have exciting times ahead of him.

Good Luck from all of us at IRR George. Enjoy your new life xx
