Georgie Marsh

December 2020

Georgie has gone to his forever home in Kent.

History

Georgie is a 2-year-old Golden Retriever x Labrador boy, currently in foster care in Derbyshire.

Foster Update – 25 November 2020

Georgie’s training is coming along and he has bonded well with his foster dad. Because of this bond and with his fosterers’ positive training approach his reactivity towards other dogs when out and about is improving.

Georgie would still be happier as an only pet in an adult or family with older teens home. He also needs an adopter who has previous experience with dogs who are reactive towards other dogs.

Georgie continues to be the affectionate loving boy towards his human family and will no doubt make the perfect companion once he is in a home with someone willing to work with this one issue.

Foster Update – 27 October 2020

Georgie arrived in his foster home on Friday so its still very early days. He is in foster with three very friendly resident bitches but unfortunately, Georgie has shown to be reactive towards them, usually around food.

He is very underweight so in some ways this is understandable. His foster mum is feeding him 3 times a day and of course giving lots of extra treats to reward his good behaviour.

He has also reacted to dogs (lunging) when out walking and is quite strong on the lead. We are not yet sure if the lead reactivity is just overexcitement or true reactivity.

On a more positive note, Georgie on his own is a different dog, his fosterer describes him as, “a big gangly puppy who loves to play with toys, who is very, very affectionate and a pleasure to be with”.

We will be looking for an adult-only home and preferably someone who has experience and worked with a dog that is reactive. He would need to be the only pet in the home.

This gorgeous lad has such a lot going for him and will go far in the right home!!
