Ginny

Ginny is an approximately 3yr old Golden Retriever. After receiving her vet checks and rabies vaccinations in order to travel, she was fostered in the UK by Diane.

FOSTER ASSESSMENT

She travelled well, is housetrained and has had some basic training.

Her health seems to be generally good

Diane says, “Ginny has settled well here with us and her nervous behaviour is improving, only showing her worried side in certain situations now, such as going through doors. She won’t go through one if there isn’t a clear exit. When putting on a lead she will cower and lie down until the lead is on. At first she would air snap when putting the lead on but not any more.

She can still be upset by loud noises and sudden movements.

She is a very loving girl, she adores cuddles and will play ball or tug now. She will play with toys and chase a ball around the garden including doing ‘zoomies’ over the plant pots

She generally behaves well when out and enjoys meeting and greeting people and dogs.

She has had several people falling for her.

She is eating and drinking well and showing a lot more interest in daily goings on. She is also allowing grooming of all areas now and seems to actually enjoy it.

Ginny is now happy with new people, particularly if they have a dog with them. She likes to meet and greet other dogs and is becoming more outgoing in her behaviour sometimes even jumping around. She is not aggressive with any other dogs.

Despite her reputation, she still has not shown any problems with cats but we haven’t seen too many that will come close to us when out walking. She is curious about squirrels but doesn’t pull towards them. She does however, have a strong fascination for birds and will chase them in the garden and pull towards the ducks around the pool”.
