Harvie

(Was Tilly)

Harvie (was Tilly) is a two year old, spayed, golden coloured Golden Retriever.

HISTORY

Then called Tilly, she was relinquished when the owners could no longer care for her. She was groomed immediately upon pick up and saw a vet straightaway for a check up.

PERSONALITY
She has a loving personality and, like most Goldens, she is very affectionate. She is scared of loud noises.

SOCIAL LEARNING
TRAVEL: She travelled well in the car.

LEADWALKING
She walks quite well on the lead. DOGS: She is scared of other dogs coming near her after suffering an attack where she had been badly bitten.

TILLY’S DREAM HOME
Tilly is best suited to a home where she is the boss and where she would be the only dog. The home would have to be like all our IRR homes, super special, but it would have to be a quiet one so that she could cuddle up quietly and feel totally safe and loved.

THE PERFECT FIT (DECEMBER 2016)

As most of our dogs are rehomed from our waiting lists in the UK and Ireland, we had a home in Eire into which Tilly would fit perfectly. So, after assessing her, she was placed as a “foster with a view to adopt” with a gentleman who had lost his Golden Retriever, Harvey, to cancer some months before. She was subsequently renamed Harvie!

IRR had been told by her owners that Harvie was great and would go to bed if you gave her a sock and said “night, night, bed-time”. Well, that was before Harvie had her own ideas. Now it’s up the stairs as soon as the light is turned out and she pops herself into the dog bed at the end of her owner’s bed (one of her many dog beds dotted around the house).

She is the centre of her owner’s world and they are great pals as she snoozes next to him, watching TV, after a long adventurous day. Yes, Harvie has finally come home, home to stay.
