Jess

Sandie said. “Jess is 2 years old, neutered, microchipped, very clean in the house and gets on well with other dogs. She is very calm and travels well in the car. She has a lovely character.”

FOSTER REPORT

Jess was fostered by Simon and his family in the West Midlands who said. “I collected Jess from the transport and was pleased to see that she was in excellent condition and health. She travelled superbly in the car without any signs of travel sickness or nervousness.

When we arrived home I followed my usual settling in process of allowing her to explore the garden before introducing her to the rest of the clan. Once she’d had a good root around I allowed our two GR’s (Bonnie and Freddie) and our little Shih Tzu (Candy) to meet Jess. It was wags all round with absolutely no signs of tension, even when Freddie started showing off and racing around the garden like a nutter. Jess’s response was to stop what she was doing give him a look of confusion and wait for him to finish. This morning Candy decided to take their friendship to the next level and started to play with Jess which was a pleasure to witness. Jess was happy to follow Candy’s lead and was very gentle and never became too rough.

Once she’d made friends with the dogs then we allowed her to meet the human residents and explore the house. She was very friendly towards our three children (ages 4, 12 & 13) and was not too excitable around Thomas the youngest and gave him plenty of space. However, she is willing to play if invited and had good game of football with our friend’s seven year old daughter when she came to visit. Over the past few days we have watched her closely around children and have not witnessed any behaviour that would cause concern.

Jess is still a puppy at heart. As you would expect of a young dog she’s into everything and always ready for new experiences. She adores toys and chewing and if they’re not available then there’s always the fun of digging holes in the garden when she’s bored.

Taking Jess for a walk is a pleasure and she is very good on the lead. She does pull slightly when we initially leave the house and she can be slightly timid looking at me for reassurance. She enjoys meeting people and other dogs.

It’s early days but Jess seems to be a confident, affectionate and adaptable dog without any behaviour problems. I think she would make an excellent family dog and needs the hustle and bustle of family life to keep her stimulated.”

JESS GOES TO HER FOREVER HOME – 20/3/2011

Jess left today to start her new life in Plymouth with Matt and his family. We hope she brings them lots of joy and know that she will have a wonderful life with them. We sure that Jess will quickly bond with their 4yr old daughter, Ellie and we’re sure that they will become firm friends.

We wish them every success and hope that they will keep in touch.

NEW HOME UPDATE – 13/4/2011

Lisa said. “Jess has settled in amazingly well. She is still very puppy like when we take her out. She loves to mix with other dogs and runs extremely fast! Jess also loves the water.

In the house she is an absolute dream. She is an extremely loving dog who adores lots of cuddles. She is very calm and affectionate. She has a great bond with our daughter Ellie, I often call them tweedledum and tweddledee as they are always together!

We are very lucky that we have Jess and that she is part of our family!”
