Judges Report

IRR 2006 Reunion Show – Obedience Judges Report

Many Thanks to Pauline for the opportunity to judge the obedience classes at the IRR Reunion/fun day. It was good to see these lovely dogs getting a second chance in life

As you would expect, there was a real mixture of abilities and experience, but I think everyone had fun.

1st Class – IRR dogs only
1st Amy (No.17) with Nugget – An old dog who has been through the wars lately but worked happily with a handler who got the best from him.
2nd Pam (No.29) with Kimber – Handler worked at a good sharp pace which got the best from her dog.
3rd. Lisa (No.4) with Ben – Clear recall and stays made up for wayward heelwork.
4th Lee (No12) with Ben – Another whose heework let down a good recall and stays.
5th Anne (No.3) with Jumble – Could have been higher placed but broke the stay.

2nd Class – Open
1st Marney (No.2) with Busby – An experienced handler who set a standard for the class that would be hard to beat in any company.
2nd Ally (No.25) with Faith – Lovely handling and moved at a pace that matched her dog.
3rd Dick (No.14) with Jasper – A good competitive round spoiled by forward movement in the stays at 30 seconds.
4th Jan (No 28) with Guy – A nice happy dog whose heelwork needs a bit of tidying.
5th Amy (No 18) with Willow – Amy works hard to get the most from her dogs.

Class 3 – IRR dogs only
All the dogs in this class need more experience at this level.
1st Amy (No.18) with Nugget
2nd Pauline (No.13) with Danny
3rd Luke (No.5) with Molly
4th Pam (No.29) with Kimber

Class 4 – Open
1st Marney (No.1) with Trilby – Marney brought Trilby out of retirement today to perform a near perfect round.
2nd Marney (No.2) with Busby – A cloud of craneflies slightly distracted the dog, otherwise a lovely round.
3rd Dick (No.14) with Jasper – A consistent round losing a few marks on each exercise.
4th Amy No.18) with Willow – Sound work but inexperienced in retrieve. Shame about the stays.
5th Jan (No.28) with Guy – Guy seemed a bit bemused by doing another round.

The judges award to the happiest worker went to Joy (No.10) with Tara – A young dog who loves to work but needs more experience.
Thanks for your company
