Kobe

Kobe is a small Golden Retriever aged around two. He cannot be rehomed with cats or small animals. He was fostered by Wendy and family in Nottinghamshire.

Wendy said. “We collected Kobe on Friday and travelled home with him laying nicely in the back of the car. He bounded out and spent a good ten minutes exploring the garden tail wagging madly! He was introduced to Prince and Lucy and proceeded to have a good sniff and then started to play with a ball by himself.

He sleeps nicely with the others and is very clean in the house. He has not attempted to go upstairs or jump on the furniture. He sits ands waits for his dinner to be shared although he can take a treat from your hand a little too hard. He is not too clear on his name and it takes several calls to attract his attention when it’s time to come inside.

He enjoys his walks and as he was pulling very hard, we have switched to a halti and he walks very nicely now. He hasn’t been off lead yet so l don’t know what his recall would be like but as he is slow to catch on to his name he may need work on that.

He enjoys being with humans, as soon as you sit down, wherever he is he soon plonks himself at your feet and goes back to sleep.

As he is still young he will require more training but l believe he will make a very loyal dog.”

UPDATE 5 JAN 11

Kobe is just excellent. If it wasn’t for the fact that we would not be able to foster any more if we kept him, he would be staying right here. We have all fallen in love with him and so do all our visitors. He is so kind and gentle. He has put the young pup in his place, got the elderly dog to play fight with him and is just wonderful all round.

He now clearly knows his name and comes running fast every time you call him. He enjoys his walks and climbs in the car and settles down very happily.

Kobe is the kind of dog that responds to you very well. If you want to be chilled out and relaxed he is very happy to sleep all day. If you want to go walking for miles, he is right by your side.

KOBE HAS GONE TO HIS FOREVER HOME

Kobe left to live in Lincolnshire with his new owners on 4 February 2011 and will be living not far from his old friend Duke.
