Lola

Lola is 10mths old and not yet neutered. She is a beautiful looking little girl.

HISTORY

She was a surrender who was in jeopardy as the landlord found out that the owner had a dog and wanted her gone. Apparently, Lola was an outdoor dog who was in a shed when she was picked up although she was supposed to have been inside with the family in the evenings.

Lola was in foster in Northern Ireland but is now in the UK and what a transformation has taken place!

As suspected, her change of diet worked miracles and she is, in fact, the quietest dog in the household. She is enjoying living completely indoors now and has become everything that is expected of a happy, young Golden puppy.

Lola’s Initial Assessment in Ireland

PERSONALITY
Lola is delightful but exceptionally loud. Heather says ” It has taken me a few days to write this report as Lola is a character and kept me on my toes from the moment she arrived. She has loads of confidence and waltzed into my kitchen with not a care in the world.

She is a very bright, intelligent young lady so new owners would have to be prepared to set boundaries for her very quickly and be prepared to spend time training her and getting her to, gainfully, use her brain.

Her food has been changed from a “multi coloured smarties” type to James Wellbeloved so we hope to see a marked improvement in her behaviour in the next day or so as the artifical colours start working their way out of her system.

SOCIAL LEARNING

Car: She was picked up by a transporter who said she was a delight in the car and just sat looking out the window and rested her head on the lady’s shoulder. There was no fear or barking.

Housetraining: Heather is trying to get Lola integrated into family life as she has done with Buddy but this is proving difficult as she barks inside, she barks outside, she even barks at the air. She loves human company but is so loud when she barks it’s deafening. She is definitely a challenge.

Leadwalking: Heather walked her for a good time and she wasn’t too bad on the lead and walked relatively well. Heather’s 13 year old son was able to control her with relative ease.

Children: Lola has been used to small children as there was a 2 year old in the house who played gently with her and said “goodbye” as she was leaving.

Dogs: On arrival, she greeted Pepper and Buddy, who where lying quietly on the kitchen floor sleeping, with a bounce as high as she could and started play fighting in the kitchen. She was jumping off anything she could to get higher than them. I put them all outside and the barking started and hasnt stopped since!

She is not food aggressive with humans or other dogs.

Cats: Despite Lola barking at Dash, the cat, he decided to sleep in her basket last night and she snuggled up with her.
