Lorraine

UK Co-ordinator

LORRAINE is the UK co-ordinator and heads the team on this side of the Irish Sea.

She is responsible for finding the best homes possible for the golden retrievers who come to us. This often involves talking at length to prospective adopters to make sure that the matches are perfect. This means her phone bills are astronomical but, like all of us, we do all this for love of the dogs and would all spend our last penny to help them.

Lorraine also has to liase with vets in different parts of the country to discuss the various treatments, as and when they are necessary. If a dog needs treatment we go for it and worry about how we are going to pay afterwards (again, this will often be from our own pockets) .

When not on the phone in the evenings (after a busy day at work) Lorraine will be on the computer answering emails from prospective adopters and checking out the wonderful, heartwarming emails from satisfied adopters about their lovely dogs.

Most weekends will find Lorraine meeting transport when new dogs come over and often driving dogs long distances to get them to their foster or forever homes.

All this is particularly amazing as Lorraine is the youngest member of our team, by a long way, but she has a very wise head on her young shoulders (often keeping us oldies in check). She heads the UK side of the team with calm efficiency, enthusiasm and great compassion.
