Molly Essinghigh

A GORGEOUS PUPPY

Vikki, as she was originally called, was a 6 month old female Golden Labrador who was surrendered because her owners did not have the time to look after her.

Like any pup of her age, she is lively and boisterous and needs lots of play, exercise, love, attention and training. She is now spayed, microchipped, wormed, and is up to date with her vaccinations.

Vikki needs a home where she will have company during the day and an owner who can give her the time, attention and training she needs. She is good with very other dogs and good in the car and really is a lovely dog.

She arrived at Sandie’s at the same time as Leah. She said that both dogs are little live wires when outside, running around like mad things and jumping up etc but both are very quiet and calm indoors, seeming to know the concept of playing is for outdoors. Both are very affectionate and love cuddles and get on well with other dogs.

Having made the journey over to the UK, and being met in the middle of a cold, snowy night by Simon, they enjoyed a couple of days together with Andy and Val until they could go to their proper foster homes in the Midlands to spend Christmas.

JANE’S REPORT

Jane said “She’s a lovely dog but is a live wire especially first thing in the morning and I don’t do mornings:))))))

She sleeps very well in her crate and you don’t hear a peep out of her all night and she appears to be house trained. Below is a photo of the clan.

After Christmas and finding a window in the weather, Vikki was then transported to Suffolk for a full assessment by Gemma who especially enjoys training puppies.

She has a great play drive, though, which I plan to put to good use and she has enjoyed her raw chicken and mashed veg for tea”.

UPDATE 31/12/2009

Gemma said “The blonde babe is safely here. She travels well, is adjusted to the crate, has had a play and we’ve been working on sit and the basics of recall already. She’s bright but can turn on the charm. The only thing I can see to work on is her muscle around the back. Also she mouths really hard but all I do when they mouth me is tickle the roof of their mouths. She got the shock of her life and spat me out and then attempted the other hand.

She’s a good little dog and I’m really impressed with her. She needs an experienced home and one where people have the time to continue her training”.

FIRST REPORT FROM VIKKI’S FOREVER HOME

Having passed their extremely thorough homecheck, Andrew and Camilla could contain themselves no longer and battled through the snow from Kent to Suffolk to go and meet Vikki. When all went extremely well and mindful of the weather forecast, they were allowed to take her home with them.

The children were over the moon and Andrew commented on how amazingly well behaved Vikki is, no doubt, thanks to Gemma’s flair for puppy training. She is already a very important part of the family and they now can’t wait to be able to take her to training classes to continue Gemma’s good work.

FIRST UPDATE IN HER NEW HOME

Sarah who did her homecheck said “Vikki is now called Molly and she is already responding to her new name 🙂 She is doing really well so far and the family are really happy with her.

She is settling in just fine and there are new locks on the doors from the hallway. The children are fine with her and she is suprisingly not that excited by them at all. Her only real issue so far is nipping in response to things she doesn’t want to do but I went through a few things with Andrew and Camilla and I think theyre a lot more confident with handling her after seeing how I redirect her. It just needs a little work which they’re happy to do. They can’t start official training classes until February so we are going to do the basics and work on the bronze exercises and some training to build up their bond in the correct way. Obviously it’s early days so she is testing the boundaries a little bit but she’s a lovely dog and easy to teach.”

Andrew, her owner, said “We spent a couple of hours with Sarah and this helped us immensely, we are painfully aware that we need as much training as Molly! The things that Sarah went through with us were put into immediate action and went very well.”

She is a fantastic dog who is responding very well is such a short space of time. Camilla, the children and I are very keen to learn how we can all work together to have a well trained happy family dog.

All in all we are extremely happy with her and very grateful we could re home her. We will make sure you get regular updates and pictures for your web page. I am sure this will be positive news each and every time.”
