Molly

Molly is a 4 year old Golden Retriever who is neutered, vaccinated and now microchipped. She spent a few days with Sandie in Ireland before arriving in the UK to be fostered by Jane and her family.

Sandie said. “I think we’ll have to nickname her super glue!!! Her tail never stops wagging and she is a real people dog. She couldn’t care one way or the other about my other dogs, I don’t think she even realises they’re here – as long as her sofa is. She’d love a home where she’s the only dog and the centre of someone’s life.”

INITIAL REPORT

Jane said. “Molly arrived on 6 Feb. She is quite a small Golden Retriever with very short stocky legs. She has got such a beautiful face even with a few scars on where she got attacked by another dog but they will heal in time.

She is clean in the house and we don’t hear a peep out of her all night. There are no problems with our other dogs, Tess and Harvey and she doesn’t bat an eyelid at the cats or the rest of our menagerie.

Molly is not very good on the lead at first and pulls like a steam train but once she’s got over the excitement of going out she walks fine. She loves the car and travelled very well from Ireland – Holyhead – home with us in Worcestershire and she loves her home comforts.

MOLLY GOES TO HER NEW HOME – 19/02/2011

Took Molly to her new home today to Ray, a match made in heaven, lol !!!

Ray had tears of happiness as we walked through the door, having lost his wife and goldie in the past 6 months.

Molly’s bed was already made up in the corner of his bedroom, I did warn him she probably would prefer to sleep in his bed with him !!!”

UPDATE 20/2/2011

Just spoken to Ray and he said Molly is great. She slept all night in her bed and not in his until 6.30am, he was well impressed. She has met all the neighbours in the other bungalows today and everyone is smitten with her too. He said they all thought he looked 100% better already, bless :))

FURTHER UPDATE 1/03/2011

Jane spoke to Ray today who said that he and Molly are getting along famously and it’s like she has always been with him. She has only attempted to get on the furniture once and hasn’t done it since. She still sleeps in her bed on his bedroom floor and takes herself off to bed about 9.30pm every night.

They go on several walks a day along the canal and he reckons Molly has got more friends than him!! Everyone stops to have a chat as he is well known in the village having lived there over 45 yrs.

He says they look after each other and his life is worth living for now. He would like to say a huge thank you to the IRR for giving him the opportunity to adopt Molly.

Jane also said that when she called Ray the phone went very quiet, then he said “Just passed the phone to Molly so she could hear your voice”, ahhhh :))))

MOLLY’S SPECIAL VISITORS – 10/3/2011

Jane said. “Malcolm and I went to visit Molly today and all is going well. Ray says she is his saviour and he now can’t imagine life without her. They go into the the neighbours house every morning for breakfast and then off for one of several walks a day. Molly has been with Ray for just over two weeks and her scars on her face have almost disappeared and she also looks as if she has lost some weight which she certainly needed !!

Will be seeing Molly again soon as all being well they are going to come and visit us for lunch.”

VISITING MOLLY IN MAY

Jane said. “Molly looks amazing, she has lost a little bit of weight which she needed to do. Her coat is much better and looks very well. She and Ray are inseparable and go everywhere together; he even took her to his solicitors last week!”
