Penny Williams

EARLY HISTORY OF HOPE

Penny was originally called Hope and it was a very pretty 2yr old, small, light cream Golden Retriever who went into foster with Jenny and Julie in Yorkshire.

INITIAL REPORT

Hope is a friendly, quiet and gentle dog, who can be timid in new situations and likes to take her time in getting to know new people. However, once she feels confident with you, she is very loyal and affectionate.

Hope is friendly towards other dogs – male and female, and loves playing and spending time with the three dogs she shares our home with. Hope particularly enjoys lying on her comfortable bed, playing in the garden with the dogs, eating nice food and cuddling up on the sofa in the evening in front of the TV.

Although Hope has not had previous basic training, she is bright and intelligent and learns quickly. She is particularly good at following the example of our other dogs.

Because Hope is currently very timid in new situations, and around new people, she is content to potter around the house and garden and prefers this to going for walks on the lead. She is clean in the house with regular toileting.

Hope would particularly like a quiet, child free home, preferably with a confident dog / dogs and people who will be patient and willing to spend time helping her to grow in confidence.

ONE WEEK ON

Hope continues to blossom and is growing in confidence each day and has being introduced to some basic training. She is learning to`stay’, iis currently being crate trained and can be left for short periods in the house, as long as another dog is with her.

Although Hope is very happy to play in the garden, she is does not feel ready yet to go out for a walk. However, as she is making such excellent progress in the home we will continue to work with Hope at her pace and feel confident that she will be able to adjust to lead walking in the near future.

HOPE HAS GONE TO HER FOREVER HOME

Hope went to her forever home on 27 March. First reports are that she has settled in nicely and although the first week was a struggle with her trying to adjust to new surroundings she is well and truly one of the family now.

She has started to do her `kangaroo boxing trick’ for them while sitting on their sofa (Julie’s take on dog training lol) and is now calling some of the shots – ie which of their friends she’ll sit with, and which of them she’ll ignore and clear off to bed until they leave.

Good for Hope, we knew she was a spirited soul.

HOPE (NOW PENNY) IN HER NEW HOME

Hope is now Penny and as you can see from the photos, she is thoroughly enjoying life in her new home.
