Purdy

Age: 11

Sex: Female, neutered

History

Purdy has unfortunately been surrendered to IRR because her elderly owner is unwell and unable to take care of her. She is quite overweight and has not had a lot of exercise recently. She also has a couple of lumps which are being investigated currently and her teeth would benefit from some attention.

Personality:
This lady LOVES attention, cuddles, affection and love. She’s a wonderful old girl who needs a strict diet and exercise regime – she probably needs to lose about 10 kilos but of course this should be done gradually. She does love to get out for a walk, and her tail wags furiously from the moment she sees her lead to the end of the walk. She travels well in the car and is house-trained. She is not particularly good with younger dogs, preferring a more sedate approach to life. She appears to be somewhat fussy about eating and does not like to eat or drink from a metal bowl!!!

Purdy’s dream home:
Purdy would love to be in a home where she will be the only dog and the centre of attention. She will need an owner who is committed to gradually helping her reduce her weight which will help her live a long and healthy old age.

Behaviour with other small animals:
Purdy isn’t good with cats, and is not particularly tolerant of younger dogs.

Fostered in: to be confirmed.
