Rio Edwards

Update 20th March 2021, Happy Gotcha Day!

Rio’s mum and dad, Christine and Michael, updated us:
“I can’t believe we are celebrating Rio’s “Gotcha Day”, one year on! We’ve totally fallen in love with this little Darling Boy! He has changed from an undernourished, anxious dog, unused with everyday domestic sights and sounds, not fully house trained and “manic” with food, to the confident dog he now is. Our old IRR boy, Tobie (he’s 12 years old now) had a great influence in calming Rio down and they are such great buddies and will be forever!

Rio is great with people, Children (has his own fan club on our Estate), getting used to other dogs and people as COVID status allows. He’s still uneasy with “traffic” noises and “food” orientated, but he’s such a cutie and makes us smile every day. Thank you, IRR, for our lovely boy and for all the wonderful work that you do. We feel very blessed to have our two Goldies in our family, giving us companionship and love, in abundance.”

RIO IS DOING WELL IN HIS FOREVER HOME WITH TOBIE

On 28.3.2020, Christine and Michael told us “Well we agree with Foster Mum, Lorna, our Rio is a little Darling!

HOME WE GO

We brought him home 19th March and Rio has settled into his Forever Home very well even though he had not been used to living in a house and domestic noises were unfamiliar for him. He is very malnourished, so is food orientated, this is the biggest challenge!

He is 5 years old but behaves like a big gangly Puppy with few boundaries although he is walking to heel on a lead and learning to “sit” and “down”.

We are continuing Lorna’s good work and, with the help of Tobie, our 11 year old Alpha Male, Rio is showing great results. He is intelligent, eager to please and very loving and is respectful of Tobie.

Thank you I.R.R. for such a little cutie and please do keep up the good work”.

HISTORY

Rio is a 7yr old Golden Retriever boy who came into foster with Lorna in Scotland in early March 2020.

He was quite worried initially as everything was quite new to him

We felt this lovely boy would probably need a home with a resident dog or bitch as he has been with other dogs all his life and that perfect home was ready and waiting with Christine and Michael and the adorable IRR Tobie.
