Rusty

Sandie’s report: Rusty was surrendered to IRR by an elderly man as he could no longer look after him. He is supposed to be 11 years old although the veterinary staff at Lissenhall think he’s a lot younger as he has boundless energy and can pull like a train on the lead. He has lived outside all his life, so probably has no manners in the house. He needs to lose a couple of kilos.

AUGUST 2011

Rusty has now arrived in the UK and is being fostered in West Midlands

FOSTERER’S REPORT

Andy and Val says: Rusty has been with us about 3 weeks now and is an absolute delight to have around. He is without question the most loving dog we’ve fostered who adores being with you, if you fuss him he is in Doggie Heaven.

He’s no trouble at all, gets on well with everyone he meets on two legs or four and is cat friendly. He’s perfectly housetrained, is fine to be left, and doesn’t have an aggressive bone in his body. In 3 weeks we’ve never yet heard him bark, let alone growl.

Rusty’s weight is fine now, his only fault being he does pull on the lead but I’ve ordered a ‘Dogmatic’ Halti on Sandie’s advice, so hope to overcome this shortly. He’s a super dog, who’ll make someone the perfect companion.

ps: If he’s still with us for the Re-union the Waggy Tail prize is ours, no problem. Give him a cuddle and he nearly takes off – his tail whirls around so much.
