Toby Hargreaves

TOBY’S HISTORY

Toby is 3 years old. He was surrendered because his family are emigrating.

1ST REPORT FROM IRELAND: MAY 2012

Toby is quite lively and because of this he may not be suitable for very young children. He has basic training but does pull on the lead a bit. He gets on with other dogs, but he has not been tested with cats.

FOSTERER’S 1ST REPORT – UK: MAY 2012

Toby is a large retriever with a delightful nature. He is always wagging his tail and has a wonderful retriever grin. He has been a pleasure since he arrived. Toby is house trained and has a basic knowledge of commands but pulls on the lead. I have used a walkezee harness and he’s been much better to walk.

Toby has been gentle and un-fazed by my children (the youngest 5), although he likes to pinch the odd teddy to carry around. Toby will, however, bark and attempt to chase the cat – so a cat free home may be best.

Toby has been fine with my neutered Labrador and Retriever. Toby loves going on his walks and sometimes takes an interest in other dogs but has shown no sign of aggression.

Toby would benefit from a basic dog training course just to sharpen his walking skills and to socialise him more with other dogs.

Toby is very human orientated and would best suit a home where he isn’t left for long periods and can be fully involved in family life.
