TOBY IS HOME

On 19th August, Alan wrote, “Our boy came back home to us today after the longest time he had been away from us in 7 years. It was quite ironic that when he came to live with us he spent the time travelling to his new life on Celia’s knee and his final journey home was on the same knee. RIP Toby.”

Toby’s dad, Alan said:

“Today we have had to say goodbye to the Legend Who Was Big T.

To say Celia and I and the rest of the family are absolutely devastated is a massive understatement as it was just out of the blue.

To everyone who knew Toby he was larger than life, a big gentle giant who didn’t have a bad bone in his body. He would treat us as his servants barking his commands, the same bark for a multitude of things.

Even though he had been with us nearly seven years he never lost the baggage he arrived with, a fear of going through half-open doors, any loud bang or the smoke alarm going off, and the dreaded fireworks which turned him into quivering jelly.

You will leave a crater in our lives Toby that will probably never be filled, you were the most gorgeous and fantastic of boys and we are missing you dreadfully already.RIP Toby you have joined the select ranks of the Gibson Goldens over the bridge, Jake, Shona, Connor, Megan, Molly, Cody, and now you.”

Thanks from Celia and Alan

The family and I would like to say a massive thank you for all the lovely comments we received after the loss of our gorgeous boy. Ironically it was Toby who was our stepping stone into this fantastic group. I’d like to post these photos that Louise sent us today of Toby enjoying his life to the full probably the last time we all met up.

Thank you once again.

History

Six year old Toby came to us having been rescued in the Balkans.

He has an excellent temperament and has been described to us as a ‘big softie!’ Toby will be travelling to us on the 11th September when he will go into kennels for his 2 days quarantine before being available for adoption.
