IT CAME AS NO SURPRISE TO ANYONE (NOVEMBER 2018)

It came as no surprise when Marion told us she and Dave were madly in love with the adorable little Tootsie and wanted her to become their little forever girl. Well done Tootsie, you have fallen on all four paws there!!!!!!

HISTORY

Tootsie is a spayed Bichon Frise who was 4yrs old in 2018.

Tootsie and Kevin were in the Pound together. As usual, they were both vet checked and rabies vaccinated so they would meet the legal requirements to enter the UK.

They were both fostered by Marion and Dave in Norfolk where it was found the two dogs had no particular bond with each other and were as different as chalk and cheese.

PERSONALITY

Marion describes Tootsie as an absolutely delightful little dog who has been very well trained and looked after.

She says “It is an absolute joy to have Tootsie in the house. We think this beautiful girl has been someone’s special pet as she is so friendly and confident.

This girl appears to be typical of her breed. She is alert, fun, sociable, intelligent and energetic. She keeps us entertained and we both love her

Tootsie loves to sit on your lap and be petted but, equally, she enjoys having fun and games”.

HEALTH

Tootsie seems to be in very good health apart from slightly itchy skin which is improving.

SOCIAL LEARNING

TRAVEL: Tootsie is happy and content travelling in a vehicle

BASIC TRAINING: She reacts almost immediately to the clicker and this has been the best way to get her to come to me. She doesn’t do ‘sit’ but gets on her hind legs and begs for her treat.

She is not that keen on being bathed but she let me shower her off after a messy walk and copes well with being groomed. She lets me handle her ok and doesn’t have any problems with Dave.

HOUSETRAINING: She is clean in the house and has used the puppy pads left on the floor for her.

LEADWALKING: She walks `loose lead’ with a body harness

RESOURCE GUARDING: She shows no signs of resource guarding

SEPARATION ANXIETY: Tootsie show no signs of separation anxiety

ADULTS: Tootsie is very friendly with adults

CHILDREN: She is very friendly with children and loves being petted by them. She has met plenty of children in the street and at the vets when she went with Elvis.

DOGS: She enjoyed her time off the lead (in enclosed dog socialisation area), of the park. Tootsie is a proper little pocket rocket who runs rings round the big dogs.

Tootsie adores other dogs and interacts well with them all. She has very keen eyesight and spots other dogs from quite a distance away. She starts barking

almost immediately to try and get their attention. Once they are together, she is very friendly and keen to play.

CATS: Tootsie would probably consider it fun to chase cats

TOOTSIE’S DREAM HOME

Tootsie is such a little star that Marion and Dave think she would suit any household willing to give her plenty of attention and keep her amused.

Of course, they fell under her spell themselves and Toosie’s home turned from a Foster to a Forever home.
