Victor Holland

THIS WEE LAD FELL ON ALL FOUR PAWS

Victor is a delightful small Retriever cross who was a 5.5 year old neutered male.  He was rescued from a high kill pound in Romania.

FOSTERER’S REPORT

Personality: Victor is an extremely sweet-natured boy. His nature is very friendly and loving.  It’s been a pleasure looking after him.

 Social Learning

Victor is being fostered near Reading.

He is housetrained, with no accidents during the night, and he walks nicely on the lead.

He is very food-oriented probably due to him being starved. He was skin and bone when his fosterer collected him. He is being fed puppy food in increments during the day to enable him to put on weight.

He is a counter surfer and made off with a turkey crown in its wrapper! Fortunately, his fosterer managed to get it back without any teeth marks!

Victor has, we believe, lived in a house before as he is familiar with the sofa!   He would make a great lap dog.

Dogs and cats: He gets on wonderfully well with his fosterer’s dogs and they romp around playing. Apparently, it’s like an episode of Jeremy Kyle watching the girls fight for Victor’s attention, especially as he is half their size. His liking, or not, for cats is unknown.

Children: We don’t think Victor is suitable for a home with young children as he playfully nips.

VICTOR’S DREAM HOME

Victor’s dream home would be somewhere that he could be cuddled and loved. He would be happy to have the company of other dogs but would be better suited to a home without small children.

FURTHER UPDATE FROM VICTOR’S FOSTER HOME (5 January 2015)

Victor has made himself at home completely. He is a cheeky little “live-wire” and loves playing. He enjoys toys and so far, has not destroyed any! He enjoys his food and has stopped gobbling it down too quickly. He sleeps through the night. He is good with my cats, just curious about them. He will make a wonderful companion. He loves a bath, which I can lift him into easily. He is absolutely adorable and gets a lot of “oohs and ahhs” when out.

ANOTHER FOSTER FAILURE January 2015

Victor’s fosterer has joined the ranks of the failed fosterers and he will be staying with her in his Forever Home. Everyone at IRR is delighted for them both.
