Watson

THE GOOD NEWS AND THE BAD NEWS (10.3.2015)

The good news is Watson and Penelope are safe and living very happily in a lovely home with Paul and all their other dogs.

Sadly, because of a large lump on his belly, Watson was taken to the vet where their worst fears were confimed and the poor old boy has cancer. For that reason, they have decided it would be best to keep both dogs with them rather than putting them through any more upheaval.

Although it is very sad news about dear old Watson, Paul did say he was showing no signs of distress or pain at the moment. We are all just really glad that they are comfortable and happy and that they will be able to stay together until the end.

UPDATE 11.3.2015

Paul & Sarah tells us: “Penelope and Watson have settled in very well, and are enjoying the company of our own dogs. Watson, bless him, is such a lovely boy, and the phrase ‘ignorance is bliss’ could very much apply to him. Although his lump is, in the vet’s opinion, now too big to do anything with safely, it doesn’t bother him at all.

Penelope is very sweet, and we’re hoping that the thyroid medication will help her to lose the weight she’s gained. Hopefully if we can get her weight down, it will help her movement and her joints”.

HISTORY

Watson & Penelope were surrendered to Wiccaweys after a change in circumstances for their owners. They have been very well travelled over the years, Europe and the USA…..globetrotting Goldies! But are now looking for a quiet retirement home. They are brother and sister and almost 14 years old. Watson is in good health for his age but Penelope has a thyroid condition which affects her weight and coat. Their medical needs are being overseen by Wiccaweys vets at the moment but adopters need to be aware of the potential ongoing medical costs. This pair are devoted to each other and ONLY a home TOGETHER will be considered.

They are both excellent with other dogs, appear to be cat safe and are used to living in a home. Do you have a cosy fireside for this perfect pair?

THIS DELIGHTFUL PAIR ARE IN THE CARE OF WICCAWEYS RESCUE.
