Jassie’s Golden Babies (2019)

NINE GORGEOUS BABIES

In August 2019, Lorraine wrote “A great friend and huge supporter of IRR in Ireland acquired an ex breeding bitch (called Jassie) a few months ago after losing her beloved old Golden Retriever.

Jassie finally had a real loving home of her own, one where she no longer needed to earn her keep and one where she got to sleep inside in a warm comfy bed for the first time in her life.️However, she was hiding her own not so little secret which became very apparent a few weeks after getting her new home!

Panic stations set in and shopping started in earnest with Jassie’s new mammy making sure that these babies got everything that all her past babies had certainly never had.

A room was emptied and the nursery was set up……. Jassie knew she was now safe and, on 3.7.2019, she proudly produced 9 not so little belters.

JASSIE AND HER BABIES

IRR have supported her mammy throughout and our own Kathryn has been helping with midwife and nanny duties!

Naturally, we have promised to look after all her babies for life.

We’re so thankful that Jassie’s new mum saw her up for sale and that she ended up in a fabulous home with somebody committed both financially and physically to making sure that these babies had the best start possible.

She had been expecting one middle-aged little girl to love for the rest of her life and ended up with one big family to take care of for a couple of months!”

The seven brothers Duke, Brodie, Loki, Duffy, Buddy, Samson and George and two sisters Siani and Grace celebrated their half year birthday on 2.1.2020. Several started out with different names.

Loki Hughes wished his siblings George Byrne, Buddy Gwynne , Brodie Gibson, Gracie Dines, Shani Adams, Duke Tolhurst , Duffy Mcleod & Samson Wright, a Happy Sibling 6 Months Old Day.

In reply, Samson wished half birthday wishes to brothers …. Duke, Brodie, Loki, Duffy, Buddy and George and sisters Siani and Grace xx

THE FIRST BIRTHDAY PARTY (5.7.2020)

Just in time, the Coronovirus regulations were eased and a First Birthday Get Together in Norfolk went ahead on Sunday 5th July.

Unfortunately, only 6 of the siblings were able to be there but, hopefully, next year, all nine kids and their Mum will be able to join in the fun. How wonderful will that be?

Wendy told us “Sunday was a lovely day. The weather was kind with lots of sunshine and all the dogs seemed really pleased to see one another and enjoyed playing together on the beach The pub just off the beach had opened so we could sit outside (socially distanced) and chat after all the fun on the beach”.

SIX BIRTHDAY PUPS

From left to right, there is Brodie, Samson, Gracie, Duffy, Duke and Siani.

A GAGGLE OF GOLDIES

Lots of greetings needed to be done.

Lots of greetings needed to be done.

Most of the puppies are quite light in colour and difficult to see on the beach because they are wet, some being wetter than others. However, of the puppies there on Sunday, Samson was the most golden, with Duke the next most golden of the Retrievers. Most of the others are quite white, with little touches of gold.

HAVING FUN ON THE BEACH

All the dogs (the birthday pups and their brothers and sisters) had great fun on the beach.

SIANI & SAMSON ONE YEAR OLD

Siani and Samson are totally worn out after a fun-filled birthday party

DUKE & SAMSON ONE YEAR OLD

This was taken when we met on Sunday and below is one of them when they first arrived in England and Louise looked after Duke for us until we got back from holiday.

In both cases, Duke is on the left as you look at the pictures. They have grown so much!
