Jumble Jones

Gone to Rainbow Bridge

A TRIBUTE FROM HIS MUM, ANNE (14.10.2005 – 01.05.2019)

Jumble, as one of the first surprise puppies, was originally called Teddy. We named him Jumble after the dog in the Just William stories.

He came to live with us on 31st December 2005 when he was 11 weeks 1 day old. One very noticeable thing about Jumble were his lovely eyes, he had one brown eye and one blue eye.

When Jumble was 6 months old, he was diagnosed with hip and elbow dysplasia as well as crumbling knees. He started on medication and also commenced doing hydrotherapy. This was something he did not like at first until Alistair went swimming with him. To encourage him Alistair would hide under water and Jumble swam to look for him. He then started to love swimming.

When Jumble was 14 months old, he was joined by Finn, a Jack Russell Cross puppy and, over the years, a number of foster dogs and puppies came to stay. One was a very scared little ex-breeding Bichon called Lilly. As she became very attached to big gentle Jumble, she stayed and for over 6 years was his shadow. Two other foster dogs became permanent fixtures. Jumble was always so gentle and let the other dogs get away with things.

We used to meet up with Alice ( mum to the puppies) and her family and Jumble’s brothers, Rory and Rupert, every year for a birthday party which was always great fun.

Jumble left us on 1st May 2019 to go across Rainbow Bridge. One of our lovely vets came out to the house, Jumble was lying out in the sunny garden and the other dogs were with him. I took Jumble to the pet crematorium and later that day came home with his ashes, so he was only away from home for a few hours.

Jumble was a very special boy and is missed so very much. We will always be grateful to Sandie, Lorraine, Pauline, Joy and the rest of the team who let us have Jumble and, of course, to Sandra, his first Mum.
