Thanks for just loving me, and thank you for caring
For opening your heart and so happily sharing
Your life with this old guy who no longer dared
To think you could love me when no-one else cared
I have much love to give but I guess I was boring
To the family I lived with as I spent my days snoring
They wanted a puppy for laughter and joy
Not a silly old codger, such a dirty old boy
I was costing them money, always needing the Vet
Without hesitation, you covered the debt
Other oldies like me know we never need fear
For you’ll save us, as always, whilst shedding a tear.
You are my special Mama, you’ve completed my life
By showing me kindness after sadness and strife
My days may be many but could just be a few
I trust, when my time comes, the right thing you’ll do
You’ll set free my spirit and end any pain
I’ll be happy and healthy and feel whole again
I’ll go to Gods garden where he’ll love me too
