Finbar Carver

ANOTHER OF THE GORGEOUS FOUNDLING BABIES

Finbar (originally Willis) was about 6 months old when he came to the UK for re-homing. His mother is a Golden Retriever and his father is a Collie. He took a little while to get used to having his photo taken but didn’t mind too much being the centre of attention. He is a sweet boy, can be a little boisterous and a bit nervous but after a while he took it in his stride.

All of Finbar’s sisters, Clover, Tufty and Willow and his brothers Josh, Finbar, Dillon and Morgan are now happily settled in their forever homes.

GREAT NEWS January 2015

Finbar went to his forever home .

UPDATE ON FINBAR (February 2015)

No doubt, entirely due to all their wriggling about during their photo session, Finbar ended up being called Willis and vice versa. As the adopters of both boys loved the name Finbar, we have a Finbar C and his brother is Finbar B (from their shortened surnames).

Like the rest of the family, Finbar tends to be a little shy, was terrified of the dark and even found the snow a scary proposition but, fortunately, a new doggy mate has been showing him the ropes and he is beginning to come out of himself. He is very smart and very agile like the rest of his family. He is also a very loving boy and, like the others in his litter, has a family who absolutely adore him.

A couple of weeks on, Fin has settled really well and seems to have boundless energy. He is walked twice daily, usually for at least an hour every morning then, again, every afternoon for at least half an hour and often an hour. Because it is safe,  he is now off his lead for most of the time, running up hill & down dale and covering at least 3 times the distance that Paul and Lindsey do.  His friend Harry shepherds him if he thinks Fin is going too far. Although still quite nervous, he has made huge strides in confidence and now plays happily with other young dogs in the fields nearby. He chased a fox from the garden one day and now races up there barking away in case the fox is there again.

Fin is an inveterate thief, given the opportunity, and he eats extremely well! . He quickly learned the rules re housetraining and is 100% clean now. Fin’s only problem is car sickness which Paul and Lindsey are doing their best to overcome. They tried to confine him to the kitchen using a stairgate but he jumped that so now he sleeps very quietly next to their bed!

In Lindsey’s words “We hope IRR are reassured Fin has found a good home & is very happy”.
