Josh Kossakowski

JOSH and IZZIE LOVE SOCIALISING (4-4-2019)

Josh and Izzie love meeting up with doggy friends in Gizzie’s field.

Today they have been reminiscing

At one meet in October 2015, Josh met up with Finbar B and Tufty.

Izzie took a real shine to Finbar’s Dad.

FRANKIE AND GUNNER

Little Frankie was there too meeting Josh’s family. He had joined the Kossakowski clan after a human bereavement. He was a lovely little fellow who fitted in well but, being very much older, he was usually a few paces behind everyone else and he became increasingly confused.

Bridgette used to joke and say he lived in Frankie World.

Sadly, one day in early October 2016, he wandered straight under the wheels of Ricky’s big heavy 4×4 vehicle and poor little Frankie went, instantly, to Rainbow Bridge. The incident left everyone shocked and devastated but it was almost as if Frankie planned the whole thing.

Frankie was especially missed by Gunner, a friend’s Golden Retriever, who teamed up with Frankie albeit Gunner was more than twice his size. They are now reunited, for sure, as

Gunner rejoined his little friend on 9th March 2019.

THE FINBAR FAMILY (3-9-2017)

Josh’s litter had a special Get Together in 2017 just for them. Finbar B and Finbar C were present and Josh, of course, as well as Willow and Tufty with her new black Labrador brother, Archie. By this time, naughty Max had also gone to live with Josh and Izzie. They are hoping to meet again in 2019 with all 8 of them present next time.

A BIRTHDAY GET TOGETHER FOR LILY’S KIDS (24.6.2018)

Josh, Izzie and Max love to join in when all their friends have fun. Here they have been.

HISTORY

In 2014, when Joshua was about 5 months old, he was one of 8 puppies who were rescued in Ireland. His mother was a Golden Retriever but his father was a Collie.  Josh came to the UK and went to live in his Forever Home with Bridgette and Ricky in Somerset.

JOSHUA (JOSH) IN HIS NEW HOME   (10 Dec 2014)

Joshua’s Mum, Bridgette, reports “He’s lovely, a bit skinny and scared but they are temporary things. I slept on the sofa the first night and got about two hours but Josh didn’t sleep at all. It was Rick’s turn the second night.

Izzie has been really good with him but she is definitely boss which is probably a good thing as he can learn a lot from her.

The 3 cats aren’t very impressed – you can see them thinking “oh no, not again!”   They just get used to one and another appears but, not to worry,  they will be okay eventually.”

FROM HIS NEW SISTER, IZZIE   (12 Dec 2014)

Izzie says “Well, I do like my new little brother although, with his legs getting longer before my very eyes, he could end up bigger than me. I was getting a bit picky with my grub but, I can tell you, no longer ….. well, he might come and nick mine and that would be a disaster!!

The cats are still not too keen as he is very playful but Josh is learning fast that “hiss” means “push off” in cat speak and could be followed by a right hook if he doesn’t take the hint so he’s become much more respectful already.

After one day of “not wanting to know” cos we think he was feeling a bit traumatised, Josh has thrown himself enthusiastically into his training with Mum who is very patient and kind and has a “way” with all animals so he is doing very well. I, of course, also give him pointers on good, appropriate behaviour.

Like me, he accompanies Mum on her “rounds” and, so far, all the chooks and other critters are totally intact although we are totally prepared for a few minor blips in the coming days.

Pa is smitten, of course, and I have told Josh he is the “soft touch” in the family.

We are both looking forward to something called Christmas which we think is going to be totally magicool.”
